This isn't an "estate" with a row of houses, drives, front gardens. It's a group of cells surrounded by 6' fences .... and the only time you leave is to drive in/out and park :)

People like their privacy, but they also like to talk to neighbours, and these tall fences are unfriendly.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Oh Sue! :(

    Who told you that!

What a horrid thing to say! Anyway, you're most certainly not boring, and you do laugh on here...... I know 'cos I've 'heard' you!

    (((((((Sue))))!!!!)

As for the Marie Celeste ... well, I've been a bit busy plus feeling incredibly sleepy.

My sister in law and her friend.

I found it incredibly hurtful to be honest, I know I have become more reserved since my breakdown but I still laugh and have fun on a regular basis.

They find me boring because of don't drink very much/very often (I can't, I have responsibilities and have to be able to drive) and that I don't laugh at what they find funny because, well, what they do isn't funny, sometimes it's quite nasty and has the scope to get them into trouble with the authorities!

I've been a single parent for 11 years now, there has only been me around to deal with the children and yes, the pause button was pressed on my social life as I couldn't get childcare to go out for the vast majority of that time. I have had the sole responsibility to make sure their health needs have been met (and are still being met with youngest - he's been in hospital twice already this year with much more time being spent at home in need of attention) and this has meant that drinking at home has been a bit of a no no in case I was/am needed to drive in an emergency.

I've been the only one around to do the role of two parents, it is any wonder I have had to be just that slight bit more responsible as there is no other parent around to take up the slack or to cover for me.

I just feel very very hurt today.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Oh Sue, I feel for you.

Easy to think of a response much later, but something like "then you don't know me at all" fits.

Sue, they sound like irresponsible eejits to me. Overgrown teenagers.

If they weren't connected to you by family, would you want anything to do with them?
    Probably not.
    I rest my case.

They aren't very nice people, and so their opinion of you isn't worth a jot.
One day, their 'fun' way of behaviour will get them into trouble, and serve them right.

Just try and minimise your contact with them.

I don't drink when I go out, even if I'm not driving. I don't like the way even a little bit of alcohol makes me feel. I can get either silly, or maudlin, and neither are attractive! Plus I go hot and pink!

It's quite interesting being sober and seeing how daft people can get, and I don't even mean that they are drunk! Their tongues loosen and they just act daft!
I can be silly and daft quite well without alcohol! :rotfl:

Oh I def would not have anything to do with them if it wasn't for her being married to my brother.

Minimising contact is an awkward one due to my niece.

Pastures, another way forward might be to write a letter, firstly explaining that you have health issues which make talking face to face difficult for you, and then explaining about the freehold trespass and how much the noise is affecting you. I'm sure that one of us on here would be willing to look it over for you, to ensure that there's nothing in it that could be misconstrued.

    Would that be an idea?

People who drink .... especially the loud sort who have their hair done and nails done .... are really up their own 4rses and a total waste of space in the main.

    Vacuous and boring.

I don't like "socialising" in pubs as they're full of these sorts....

Alcohol also makes them feel very brave in telling the people around them what they think of them.

As well as being boring and not finding jokes funny, I apparently have ideas above my station (aka social housing stereotype) because I don't find their antics funny and take education and career progression seriously.

It's your anxieties creating those pecking orders, PN. I understand how you feel uncomfortable about people's reactions, we almost all worry about the reception we might receive. That is dependant on the way one actually addresses the person and then the sensibilities of the person being complained to.

A neighbour was making a fire on a lovely day and my house was stinking of smoke. I went over, was perfectly polite, asked them if they could please consider burning on a drizzly day indtead and they put it out.

My cousin made a fire here on a similar sunny day. We'd literally just got back from London and had no idea there was a fire on our land as three doors down had one in their front garden! Two neighbours decided to come over and start shouting at me. That was fun. Needless to say, my reaction to them wasn't quite the same as my approach to the other neighbour. :o Managed to speak sensibly with 'number 3' eventually, and cousin came round tthe front to apologise, but 'number 1' is a clearly a mentalist and 'number 3' has now started making fires, so he may have come to the same conclusion.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
