Sowed my sweetcorn this evening. Only the leeks to go in now, once they've got a bit bigger in their pots. Also some more parsnips which were looking too crowded in the tray in which they came so I've potted them up individually to plant out when they are a bit stronger - I put one trayload direct into the ground so these are "belt and braces", especially since the ones I sowed as seeds all appear to be doing well. Luckily, I looooove parsnips
Everything's growing pretty well - no sign of the first sowing of peas yet, but I had a gentle dig yesterday and found one shoot that hasn't broken the soil yet so hopefully they are just being a bit tardy.0 -
Where is everyone? More than 24hours with no posts on the NPT????
Weather lovely here today. Am sitting in the conservatory enjoying it. Even without direct sunlight on the laptop screen I can only just see what I'm typing, but it's worth it.
Being told I am boring and that I don't laugh....feeling pretty low now as a result of that.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

What a horrid thing to say! Anyway, you're most certainly not boring, and you do laugh on here...... I know 'cos I've 'heard' you!

Shame you don't like noise Pastures. Or I would suggest you take up drumming. You could drum along to their DOOFing and find it's rhythm, whist creating a wonderful noise. You don't need a drum kit to drum.
Or you could just decide to begin drumming at times when you know it would cause them difficulty. Perhaps when they come to complain, you could then explain this is what you have been tolerating for x period. They stop and you stop.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Sigh of relief - Marine Le Pen lost.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Is it your wall they are doofing against?
If so, you will be quite within your rights to ask them to stop and/or speak to the parents.
Do the parents know how irritating this is for the other residents? If not, they might just assume that as no-one has said anything, they don't mind.
I still don't get why they don't play in their back gardens.(I just lurve spiders!)

How horrible! Who said that? It's not true - even just by knowing you online I can tell that you are not boring. I find the stuff you post interesting, and I am sure most people you talk to IRL find your conversation interesting too.
LNE once told me I was "no fun". It hurt. All it really meant was that his sense of humour was not identical to mine, and that there are some kinds of jokes he found funny that I don't. More fool him for thinking that his wife ought to find the exact same selection of things funny that he did in order to qualify as "fun". I'm guessing there might be something of the same sort going on for you???? (Tell me to mind my own business if that's hopelessly inaccurate.)

Wouldn't work. They almost certainly wouldn't feel about it the way you do, or not to the extent that you do, anyway.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Pastures, is there somewhere locally where you can learn meditation? It's great for dealing with stress. Courses tend to be free or very cheap, and once you have learnt it costs nothing at all to practise. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Pastures, I think that really, the only way forward is for you to talk to the renter families.
They may genuinely not know the position re the private land and whatever covenants are in the deeds.
They may be horrified to think they've been annoying you and others for such a long time.
I know you don't feel able to do that, but it really is the only way forward.
If, when you have had that conversation with them, they still persist, then it would be a matter for the landlord to sort out. Finding who the landlord is might be difficult. (The local authority might know, but probably subject to data protection). If you can remember a To Let board, the letting agent may be able to help, or at least to pass on a message, if they are no longer involved.
Otherwise, did you say that the open plan parts are all freehold? If any parts are leasehold, then the freeholder could be contacted.
If they are breaching covenants in the deeds, then the last resort, the very last resort would be a solicitor's letter.
My feeling is that they are probably ignorant of the covenants and the freehold position, and ignorant of the nuisance the children are causing.
If you really, really feel you can't approach them, would you feel up to talking to one of the other affected neighbours about it? And then to approach the offenders as an affected group. To be honest, the more of you that do approach the offenders, (non-confrontationally, of course), the more they would be likely to respond.
It is a horrible situation, and I do feel for you. Approaching neighbours about something annoying you is a horrid and worrying thing to do, I know, but it really is the only way to go.(I just lurve spiders!)

These things can cause stress, and your posts here give the very strong impression that you are quite badly stressed by the ball play.
The hyperacusis could make ordinary levels of sounds stressful, so you may be suffering much more than the neighbours could be expected to realise.
Meditation helps deal with the stress, whatever the underlying cause. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
