Most major indices have already had the crash. FTSE, DAX, CAC, EM, US are all down ~20% since their highs only a few months ago. I think all are trading around the levels of mid 2017 at the latest?

And in mid 2017 plenty of people were saying we were in a bubble, that valuations were unsustainably high etc.
There's a long way to fall from here

News just in from the US.

Then the jobs report where things are still positive.

    https://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-adds-312000-jobs-in-december-unemployment-rises-to-39-2019-01-04

Blogs, forums, news bulletins they are all guessing. 10 years since the last downturn so commentators are asking correction or crash ?
I bet you don't hear which way they're positioned with real money.

On the subject of jobs created during December the average was 103,000 for the last 25 years. Today was 300,000 so isn't seasonal as suggested in the thread.

Bull markets don't die of old age.

Yield curve, declining earnings, Brexit, trade war, interest rake highs, global debt amongst other things are what we know about, and are now priced in.

The only thing not priced in is a severe recession.

Place your bets on when/if you think it occurs.

A boost in temp christmas employment is nothing to get excited about.

Lets see how it looks for January.

No we have not reached the bottom in my opinion we still have a long way to go and hence I have taken half of my stocks out and gamble on higher stakes with buying crypto currency. Not sure anyone else is but all to their own risk.

At least you're referring to your crypto position as a gamble rather than an investment.

I hope the excitement will be worth all the money it costs you. Seriously, you could get the same amount of pleasure at lower cost by visiting Atlantic City.

Could be near the bottom or not - depends on how much it goes up before the next downturn.

Lots of possible negative factors that could take it down much further.
Brexit, USA trade war, USA tax reforms, USA government closedown, Middle East turmoil, China slowdown, EU country failures ....

Also lots of possible positive factors which could take it up.
Brexit, USA trade war, USA tax reforms, USA government restart, Middle East turmoil, China speedup, EU country successes ....

I would guess that if everything goes pear shaped then exotic/risky investments will see fraudulent activity.
Also suspect the near future prospect will be volatility.
