Hence why it should't of happened, the social worker was fresh out of university and had many complaints against them so much so she moved to another area of the UK due to the death threats she was given! - yes its definitely the social workers fault that she received death threats. The abused wife should've had tea ready at 5:05 too....
Just because you don't believe something doesn't mean its not true, since you are the once challenging what I say you have to prove it wrong. - Actually I don't have to prove anything. I offered you financial incentive if you could prove your claims. I'll still carry on not believing you and it wont affect my life at all. (i'll have potentially saved £50 though)
Hes 38 next month by the way, and also fyi by me saying it was a moment of madness is me saying "if" he did it not saying he "did" - That's not what 'he did it in a moment of madness means. You may wish to edit your original post. also for your information the local police force was doing badly in convictions at the time - a conviction isn't gained by the police, nor does it mean going to prison. , one of the higher ups even said they would make an example of him - So the police decided to not use other methods available to them. They don't have to do so. , also when they asked families for statements they twisted them so much so the family complained and the policemen responsible got in trouble. - Statements cannot be twisted. You write it down and sign it. They are the words of the family and the police have zero input into them.
Theres a big sticky at top of page that says.
Its about helping people get their entitlement! Not about benefits policy!
Fair enough. If the admin would like to move the posts relating to policy, that would seem appropriate.0 -
You are looking at it in your wrong biased way, you don't need to have sympathy for them not having dvds but dont treat them like they have all the latest gadgets and have it easy, and did you ignore the fact I said he was doing other things in his time? They use things like tvs in the period they are locked up and can't leave their room not a all day thing.
And to flip your argument around are you saying letting people rot and stew is better than little rewards for good behaviour that mean they realise how good it is to not do bad things?
So when they are locked away they could sit and reflect on the actions that brought them there rather than watching Tv. I don't care if the TV is brand new or black & white.
:rotfl: little rewards, you make them sound like a dog!
Why should they be rewarded for doing the right thing? Do the people who have never committed a crime in their life get rewarded for being good? No they don't.
As you said they are doing other things so hardly being left to rot and stew.0 -

Interesting thread. I must confess that I am not on the side of the prisoner or his defender.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

In all your posts you've been bleating on about your poor poor relative ... stitched up ... left to rot..... moment of madness. Calling everyone biased or ignorant. What about the bloody victim in all this - I take it there was a victim ? Did you do hospital visits ? Support them ? Or did you just leave them to rot ?0 -

How very dare you thin about the victim in all this?!
The OP's relative is in prison for goodness sake, stitched up by the evil social worker - though thankfully the community saw through their lies and ran them out of town! Stitched up by the police, who had to hit their target! Stitched up by their mates!
And you dare even consider how the victim (of this no doubt violent offence) felt?!0 -
if the person is able to maintain social relationships during their sentence then surely the existence of some kind of social network would reduce the chances of re-offending.
And surely, if this is what it was about, the benefit should go to them. Why should you be entitled to help to visit to benefit them?
Once again, this is all about supporting vulnerable people becoming even more dependent and feeling victimised. Socialising IS a luxury, inside or outside.0 -

Why would I have sympathy that a criminal can't watch 18 movies or play 18 games? They are there to do their time, movies and games should not be provided regardless of the age certificate.
Given I said all of two words, how can you take from that, that I believe the rest of society is angelic? There are plenty who belong in prison that for one reason or another aren't.
This ^^^
Agree totally with Sparkles0 -
they can't have clothes sent in so wear tatty clothes.
In Cat Ds (open prison) and some special Cat B/C prisons they can wear their own clothes within the prison which can be brought in by relatives.
For Cat Ds working in prison grounds they get to wear fetching green trousers. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
