His wife is convinced he's going to go this weekend so to speak. The doctors said the part of his brain that has effectively died means if he does pull through he'll be paralysed all over. I've known that man my whole life, it's been all a bit sudden really. She's being rather detached and I can't say I blame her. Their son died suddenly 20 years ago when he was 25, in his dad's arm on New Year's eve from Marfan syndrome (he didn't know he had it). I took some cake round to her yesterday and she inferred that compared to losing her son, nothing would be as bad as that. It's all a bit strange at the moment.
Regarding a rocky road recipe, I don't have one but this one is pretty good: http://www.josblueaga.com/2014/08/rocky-road-tiffin.html
Poor woman. Sudden illness is a bit surreal to be honest but I think that's our coping mechanism kicking in. Having good neighbours will be a great comfort to her.
Thanks I will try receive. Might have to hope my trial run is good enough as running out of time.

Elite shopping experts I need your advice please ASAP
I am looking at silk ties that would go nicely with a navy suit and a white (or pink ) shirt.
The tie needs to have a very tiny animal design in it - the sort of design that is so tiny you don't realise what it is unless you are up close.
Pigs have been suggested - possibly too obvious.
Or pheasants - I think these would be really lovely if I could find pheasants.
I've been sent a link with little tiny turtles - John Lewis £25 - no I have not taken leave of my senses - its eldest child's BF birthday and I've just asked her what he really fancies.
So that is this weeks assignment. The birthday is the 7th so I need to get cracking. If I decide to go with the JL option I can collect from Birmingham and I think I have to go there this week for something else if I can figure our what day ...
