I think that is what they have been doing for the last 2 weeks, deciding exactly where the fault is and only yesterday did they give an update and the work is due to be done on Friday.

Our actual exchange cabinet is in a village 3 miles away - I have no idea why

Out of interest what speed are they promising you? Is it the cabinet or the exchange that is 3 miles away? With an exchange 3 miles away you would be lucky to get 5 Mbps unless they are installing fibre which is highly unlikely.

Yes, you'll have to pay excessive charges if you go a couple of KG over....but that person next to you weighing 50 more than he should, he won't be charged extra...

:) So the passengers will have to be picked to make an even weight?

    10 x fat passengers or
    20 x thin passengers or
    10 thin & 5 fat?

What about children & babies are they counted as thin?

    Good morning all...

stepped back from the internet over the past few days but I think I have now caught back up with most of the thread.

Good to see that VT and LFAB are both settling into their new homes...I hope you have many happy times ahead.

I see snap has headed to her parents and I hope that her Dad is finally back home soon.

Nanny was packing for her egyptian adventure ...not sure if she's sailed but either way...bon voyage

HG ...WOW so impressed with the frugal Feb spend...I actually think its something everyone ought to try...and its good for clearing out the cupboards and freezers on a semi regular basis!

Rhos...Read your family news and can only echo what others have said...very bad timing but your kids will look back on it in 20 years time and laugh about the "stag do".
I am sure everyone will rally round and they will have the most fantastic day, honeymoon and life together....you are a really lovely close knit family and I know if its possible you will all pull together.

I havent managed the wonky veg boxes...my local A apparently have had a 3 pallet,6 foot high delivery 3 times this last week and they have each sold out in under 2 hours...so much for the consumer preferring "perfect veg"!!!!
    but
I did manage to order a couple of mystery whites yesterday morning for delivery today...I shall let you know if I get any gems...

It was a very reflective weekend for us...the first of many anniversaries/special days.......bitter sweet....but we have come out the other side x

Hugs to everyone who needs them....and onwards with the day
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend

in the olden days people were actually weighed before they boarded so they could get the amount of fuel right

Still happens. We flew on a 20 seater plane in America on an hours flight and they were weighing passengers with their luggage before boarding. The POS (people of size) were all allocated the central seats (3 seats in each row) and given strict instructions that no one should swap seats.

    EASTER EGGS!

As a previous OP posted, T Eggs down to £2 each from tomorrow
    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/SpecialOffers/SpecialOfferDetail/Default.aspx?promoId=A31903745
If my calculations right and TC trigger used, should be an APG for £6.40, making it £1.20 an egg.
TC trigger = Toffee Crisp w/ mug?

Are easter eggs showing on APG now? There was a womble posted end of last week by m4rtin with the 3 for £10 eggs on receipt but none of them made the APG.

Good morning :)today am doing something I always dread ...packing the suitcase and weighing it realising you are overweight ;)so sure I will be having to eliminate certain uneccasary items at the last call ;) and doing away with the many lists that have accumulated on the dining table as things have been checked off :TDS is taking us to the Airport and picking us up on our return journey so no need to panic about Taxi's

    Catch-up later this evening

Have a great Holiday Nanny, I hope you manage to get all your packing into that Pink Shopping trolley:)

its the actual cabinet at the side of the road that is 3 miles away

I don't think they have ever promised us anything but we generally get 2.5 Mbps.

When we renewed contract last summer I asked about fibre but the chap said that we would barely get 10 Mbps so it was not worth getting it and paying extra. He said if we waited a few years we would catch up.

Our local MP was in the newspaper with a big fanfare about Connecting Cheshire so I wrote to him asking when and if this would happen to us. He contacted our local council and apparently our cabinet is outside the scope of Connecting Cheshire. Our cabinet is too far to offer superfast speed apparently.

I have no idea what this means as the village is in Cheshire.

They also said according to the BT ADSL checker we could get up to 17 mbps

    https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.AddressOutput

I am not sure where they get this figure from as I get this

ADSL Max Up to 2 -- 1 to 3.5 Available

we struggle along quite nicely when there is just me but not if OH comes home and starts downloading magazines (he insists he is not doing it but any drop in speed I can tell)

at the mo I cant get little videos on Fb to work but this is probably a good thing, no wasting time on cat videos :D
at its worst I click on a page and I get a blank space so its back to how it was in dial up days, click on a page, go and fill a kettle, go to the loo or find a job, come back 5 mins later and the page has loaded.

  • Interesting.
So you'd welcome some sort of ticket price based upon the combined weight of body + luggage? Sounds reasonable, but I'm a little confused by a man putting forward what is essentially a practice unfair on men.
Generally speaking, men are bigger and therefore heavier than women. Is this fair?
As a 5'4" parent of 6'4" sons, I don't think it's unfair for us to pay the same for a ticket. We all take up one seat each. My sons have no control over their height and frame size and it's not like there's much leg room either.

I'd suggest a price according to gender (oh great, trans are gonna have a field day lol).
That way, you can have weight categories. (a bit like the BMI chart).

I feel the pain of leg room...literally, there is none!

Sky is absolute sh** , I get speeds ranging from 16mbps to 0.05mbps. It constantly drops out between 12am and 2am so usually in the middle of films or while i'm on the Xbox/PS4.

When we paid £93 a month it was fine but ever since we got the deal for £5.95 for the year it's been c@ck.

    For £5.95 a year, that's pretty good...
(assuming that's for the whole package? if not, get fibre. Provider doesn't matter, they all use the same line and exchange).

Yeah, with mug. Offer doesn't start until tomorrow, so maybe picked up on APG by Thursday?
