Just out of curiosity can anyone explain how the little star thingy underneath your avatar works! It's just that I've noticed people with one coloured star, three stars but only the middle one is coloured, lots of coloured stars and a mix of coloured and non coloured stars.
So whats the deal with that? Obviously I want mucho mucho stars!

Had a bit of a filing spree a little while ago and then got distracted by looking up EPC certificates online. Don't ask - I'm weird!
Had a lovely morning with a friend from work in Costa and then did some shopping for Mother's Day and a friends birthday. Then had to fill the car up with petrol. Not a cheap day today. Might be able to go and earn some money with a mystery shopping type app, so that's a positive.
I've transferred £14.19 worth of interest from the 123 account and I've been paid my expenses and audio transcription pay. Oh, and I've got another £13.12 coming from TCB.
Need to wait for my transactions to clear, or do some maths a bit later on and figure out just how much of this money I can afford to shuffle into O/P and/or my savings account. Still waiting for £75 for some freelance work I did too, but will give them another week or so before I start nagging.

Pointed out to the husband that we got £14.19 interest from the 123 account. He smugly turns around and says, 'Well, I got £100 interest on the £30,000 in the S&S ISA.'

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stocks and shares, smocks and stairs. You do things your way and I do things my way...

Oh. My. God. I've been given a 1hr 48 minute file to transcribe!! Longest file ever. However, the longer the file the more I earn. So, can't complain!!!

How long would it typically take to transcribe a file that long?

On average I estimate about 1 hour for 10 minutes of audio. There are other factors such as quality of audio and whether it's long reams of speech (which is quicker to type) or if its lots of shorter sentences. If I get lucky with focus groups there may be tasks that they do where I don't have to transcribe and that helps with the time but it's not a guarantee.
Last night I did 25 minutes of audio in 2 hours. So I'm going to break it down into 2 hour slots today 11-1pm, 2-4pm and 5-7pm and see how I get on. Deadline is midday tomorrow.
I reckon this will take me nearly 10 hours, which of course makes it a pay rate of £5.60 per hour and below minimum wage but it's freelance. I don't mind as this is a top-up of my salaried job.

Oh, been back to local parkrun this morning. I could tell that I wasn't as fit but that's not a surprise seeing as I have barely done anything since I injured my foot. This morning my foot felt fine - no pain or anything. About halfway round my foot started to ache and it's a bit sore now so that seems to me as if the bruising is still there but not as close to the surface as it was.
According to my phone I did it in just shy of 40 minutes. I didn't actually have a time goal today, i really just wanted to finish but I am hoping for a sub-40min official time. Aiming to go to the gym at some point tomorrow and start doing some weight training again to try and increase my VO2 max and my stamina. Also need to find out where I can do some off-road running locally as I have a 10K race on 17th April which is all cross country and hilly. I predominantly run on flat roads. Might have pushed my comfort zone a bit too far with this one!! :rotfl:

Bit late, but im assuming the stars thing is in relation to how many posts you make. However i've no idea how many is needed to gain another one. It's like working in McDonalds!
