  • Could this be why retailers tell you to measure before ordering furniture items? :D :rotfl:

Hmm...the thought never occurred to me really. I got sofa lust and all rational thought just left my brain. It didn't look that big in the shop!

I do like it. In fact I love it. I can't figure out how to link up to a picture yet but it's a big deep circular swivel chair and I've named him George.
I have a thing about naming objects - my car, computer, sewing machine, my teddy bears, I named a pair of running trainers once.

  • Hope your new chair was finally able to get into the bedroom :)

Yep it's in and I'm currently ensconced in George's softness!!

I also passed my exam today which means I now have a Level 3 City & Guillds Qualification in Energy Awareness! Think this means that from next week I'll be taking more of a lead when my colleague and I do home visits with clients. Well, I've got to get my experience somehow!
  • Ooh, what a lovely chair. If I had a chair as comfortable looking as that, I fear I would never leave it! :)

Is very comfy. I only came down because it was dinner time and I didn't have to cook.
Will be glad when my arm stops hurting so I don't have to keep putting up with random sharp pains if I'm not careful when I move around on the chair or in bed

  • Currently making use of my Energy Awareness training already and my certificate isn't yet 24 hours old.
I switched supplier using the MSE collective switch and have been waiting for en email to drop into my inbox asking me for an opening meter reading, knowing that the estimated switch date was the 17th February. Anyway, I go online today to see what's going on and find out that my Sainsbury's account is now closed and I owe £11.98. I'm like, 'Hold the phone I haven't submitted an opening reading for British Gas.'
So, I duly take my meter readings, calculate my bill based on the readings from the bill in December I got and figure out that they've overcharged me by £1.13. I know that's not a lot but it's not the ruddy point. I was told I would be asked for an opening meter reading and they didn't do that. I've gone online on BG and submitted my actual readings, which being slightly lower than the estimated I want to check have actually gone through, thereby getting my £1.13 back on my BG account, and politely enquire as to why an estimated reading was used and not an actual reading!!!!
I also want to change my name. I rang up last year and told them I got married and changed my surname. For some reason they never changed the Miss to Mrs. I couldn't be bothered to deal with it then - I have phone anxiety. Now however I feel more confident and it's really bugging me. I feel like Pumba from The Lion King - 'That's MR Pig!!!!'
  • Never mind the energy supplier angst. The burning question is how many times have you made yourself dizzy on George?

Actually we're due for a switch in May and I know we'll have about £100 credit so I'm going to try and be proactive and get the cash refunded a few weeks before I start the switch... I don't trust them otherwise to get it back to me in double quick time otherwise.

Good luck on that I was 9 months into a year contract and had overpaid £250 and I had to fight tooth and nail with them over it.

Also had a problem leaving with NP*wer not believing my reading, making up their own and billing me £130 extra. My new energy supplier took up the mantle (Sc*tish Power) and fought for me because I had paid twice for the same electric, they only refunded when I gave them a new reading and photographed it to prove it and the reading was still less than their estimate 6 weeks later :eek::eek:
