Went out for a run. Had a vague notion in my head to aim for about 4 miles that way it'll be increasing my distance rather than just sticking to a 5K each week. I also wanted to do a reccy of the rugby club - I've been told it's a good place to do some off-road work and possible hill training. So, I headed up there and then got on the grass.
I'm not very good on the grass. So I did do 4 miles but it took me 57 minutes :eek::eek: which is my slowest ever 2-4 mile run. It's one of my slowest runs ever but to be fair there was a lot of walking especially once I got to the rugby club. Once I got back on tarmac to come home I was doing much better. So I know where I'm going to be spending most of the next 5 weeks!!0 -
Okay time for a financial update
.
As of right now I have £343.29 in my O/P account. I have just requested £16.02 from TCB and have another £38.58 that is taking it's sweet time to clear from approved to payable. So, £16.02 on its way. I also have £75 due on Tuesday, £10 from some mystery shopping and I think £11.60 due tomorrow. So that makes £112.62 arriving in my account this week, which will leave me £44.09 short of my magic £500 target.
I will make an O/P before Easter!!!!!! Awesome stuff, happy dance. Yee-haw and all that jazz!!!

New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Thank you! The next one might be a tad harder to come by. I've had some large sums from TCB and my switch bonus however there is a possibility that I may get extra hours at work. Just a possibility so keep your fingers crossed for me, but that would make things much easier!0

Another spin class tonight. So much sweat - it kept going on my glasses lense which was really annoying.
I'm sure when I get up tomorrow my thighs will feel like blocks of concrete but I have 2 rest days now. Would like to go for a sesh at the rugby club again on Thursday.
Still haven't lost any weight yet though...0 -

Woke up this morning to find out that IDS has quit!! Couldn't believe my eyes! Thought it might have been FB trying to lie to me. Just before I went to sleep last night there was a breaking news story that the divisibility benefit cuts were 'going to be kicked into the long grass.' Glad he's gone but I'm not convinced we're any better off. Time will tell. I'm hoping for a vote of no confidence that triggers an election but I think I'd be better off waiting for that pig to land in my back garden.
So, after watching the news off I toddled to parkrun. I was all geared up for it this morning which just goes to show I made the right decisions having a break last week. I've been doing some training on the grass at the local rugby club and trying to work on inclines (I really cannot justify calling them hills). I also read an article about learning to love hills and it gave some tips. The first was to lengthen your stride when going downhill, not to go faster per se, but to open out your legs, which was easy enough to follow. The second was that when going uphill decrease stride length but increase cadence - kind of like cycling uphill on a bike. The final nugget was that whenever you feel like walking or stopping keep going, the second time you feel like stopping keep going. Only when you get to the third time can you let yourself slow down.
So, I gave all of these a go this morning and I felt much better. Part of that will be the training I've been doing but I definitely found it easier going uphill and the 3 strikes helped me go a bit further whereas I would have just slowed down on the first go. Mental strength needs to be worked on as well as physical.
So I finished 303 out of 337 with a time of 38.50 which is 6 seconds off my best for this route. My PB is 31.55 but they've changed the route since then so you finish uphill now not downhill.
All in all a good morning!!0
