Urgh, I'm drowning in audio files. I worked extra this week in the office so I didn't have Wednesday off so I didn't do my usual shift on Tuesday night. Which meant that to get my 2 shifts in this week I had to do 2 this weekend. Usually when I've done that in the past it's not been too bad and I've either only been given work for one shift or I've been given a short file for one of the two.
Yesterday I noticed 3 assigning emails from them. So, I got 3 audio files all about 33 minutes long due back at lunchtime tomorrow and now I've just had my assigning email for my shift tomorrow and its for 65 minutes! I've just finished my first audio file so I still have 2 more to go for my first deadline. Luckily the audio is very good and it's pretty interesting.
I also keep track of the work I do, so I have an Excel spreadsheet where I put all my files in and it calculates how much I'll get paid. Currently at £200, and still have 10 days of the month to go. So, this could be my best paid month. So, I'm going to focus on the money and maybe stashing more aside for my second mortgage pot. Think of the mortgage, think of the mortgage, think of the mortgage....0 -
Oh my word - 4 days since my last post! Can't believe I managed to keep my (cyber) mouth shut for that long.
Santander finally credited the £500 to my mortgage, so they got an extra 4 days interest out of me. Also, next months payment has gone up my about £1. This happened last time - think it went up by about £15 just for one month. I'm assuming it has something to do with recalculating interest due to shortening the term or whatever but still *humph*.
Broke up for Easter yesterday. As I only work part time I've got 6 days off now. Then back in for another 2 next week and then I'm off for up to 11 days. All depends on when I work my 2nd day next week. We're going to Zagreb for 4 nights, which will be lovely but I think I need to stop watching g Air Crash Investigation!
I have done very little today. Lie in til 9.45 then playing on iPad in bed til about 11 followed by a little bit of housework and then more iPad in the sofa. I should really have something to eat but I need to go to Ald! And grab a few bits. Need to be careful I don't come home with the whole contents of Aisle 4 :rotfl:
I'm going to do a financial review soon so I'll be back to update that side of things. Toodle pip chickens xx0 -
Financial review...eagerly awaiting!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Okay so somewhat of a financial review. The first thing I want to say is I honestly cannot believe how much money you can save when you really put your mind to it! I'm glad I'm 28 and my mortgage is only 6 years old (nearly) when I started this journey. So glad I've realised the benefit of this now. Anyway...
So I have TT'd £38.03 in the last 10 days, which is my biggest pot so far. I think it's because it's pay day tomorrow so I've been aware that I wouldn't really need the money. You know, 'Oh, I get paid next week. I'll only need £40 to last me,' kind of thing. I think after popping to Ald! today I have about £25 left. So my TT pot is now at £87.46.
As I have already mentioned I have made my first £500 over payment to my mortgage last week, which brings my daily interest down to £8.61. If I can get it down to £97,250 (or thereabouts) I'll dip under the £8.50 I believe. So, that's my next goal. Already £31.52 in my second round of £500. Need to make this one grow as quickly as the first one - more on that later.
I have finally got round to moving £1100 out of my rubbish N@twest ISA and into my TSB account so as of April I will be getting 5% interest on that which will be about £8.33 ish a month, plus hopefully my £5 contact-less reward. I've also opened a N@tionwide account but I can't do anything with as they are painfully slow!!
I had to wait for a letter for me to sign which I had to take into branch with proof of ID so they could finalise my application. I did that last Friday. I am now waiting for my card and PIN which I need before I can register for online banking which once done will also require a letter to be sent out with my username and opening password blah blah blah. I'll probably be in Croatia by the time that arrives so we'll be looking at the 8th April before I can actually move my £2500 into the account and start getting 5% on that! Oy vey, what a palava.
Then I'll have £157 to do with what I please. Most of it will probably go into the O/P pot.
So, I'm very happy that I managed to get to my £500 target so quickly but I did have some large payouts from TCB that helped me along as well as £100 switch reward and £75 from some one-off freelance work I did. Has anyone got any good suggestions as to how I can get more money? I like using TCB and I've just signed up to Quidco in the hope that I can find some offers on there too.
My car insurance isn't due until October and we've just done the house insurance through a specialist insurer cos of hubby's fancy and expensive road bikes. Got a good deal, but no cashback
I'm going to have a look at pet insurance but I have the feeling that we're on a good deal with Animal Friends. It works out on average about £91 each for the 3 cats, one of whom is classed as senior. It's 2x £5.26 and 1x £12.27 I think.
Other than that I'm at a bit of a loss. When I come back from Croatia I want to make an effort to sell my wedding dress. I'm hoping to get about £300 for it, so that would help.
Any ideas and suggestions will be gratefully received. I just wish I could part ways with a kidney. I don't drink alcohol so I'm sure I don't need the spare one!!!0 -

Also I forgot to mention that mum and I are going to Ch1michangas for dinner tomorrow night. We try and go out for a meal every 4-6 weeks or so. Even though we work at the same place and I take her into work half the time it's nice to spend some quality time together outside of work.
So I've been looking at the menus trying to figure out what I'm going to have. We went Mex last time so we're going Tex this time and I'm so looking forward to having a burger!!!! Nom nom nom!!!0 -

Thank you Mr and Mrs and welcome! It is a very interesting way to while away a spare half hour...couple of hours....most of the day.
I try not to make my diary too dry and just write down what I'm inking which can be very random and a bit odd - just like me.
It's easy to set a goal of £1000 which is what my initial annual goal was but if you don't really push your limits you'll never excel. Wish I could apply that when I'm running and at they gym but it's not as painful or exhausting with money.0 -
