i always use Lidl's gammon; excellent value.
we either have them on a bed of vegetable rice with a fried egg on top or with mash and parsley sauce and peas.0 -
Yum not had gammon for ages.
We normally have it with savoy cabbage stir fried with mushrooms and onions (also yummy with sausages...the cabbage that is not the gammon!)0 -

Thanks - was doing a debate as to whether to do salmon or gammon steaks tonight.
Since we have some cabbage to use up, some mushrooms and onions - looks like that's the menu for tonight
Do you do any sort of sauce with it?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

I like to cook it in cola, in the oven. Then serve with chips, grilled tomatoes and a hot homemade BBQ sauce. Delicious.0

I always use Tesco Value gammon rounds (think they are £1.28 or similar for two). Not sure if they are the best quality, but they get eaten, so not going to complain.
How much are the Lidl ones? There is a Lidl quite near me, but don't go very often cos it relies on bf's good nature to drive me there.
I always have one meal with gammon in, not sure why I don't do more as it is very nice. I always do the same thing. It's called pasta, sauce and gammon (teehee)
I cook the gammon rounds on the George while pasta is cooking.
When they are both cooked, I chop up the gammon, drain the pasta, add the gammon to it and stir in Dolmio Stir Ins (I know, I know, January is my month for starting to make my own tomato sauces).Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I have 3 big gammon steaks left over from yesterdays tea and was wondering what i could make with them in either a oven/grill/slow cooker? I cant freeze them as they have already been frozen, then defrosted (to make yesterdays tea). I dont fancy just gammon steaks for tea again tomorrow
