  • Ohhh! I'm cooking one as we speak, got a good deal in Mr A ages ago. OH has decided that we should go and see his father so won't be eating it tonight, and tomorrow is MIL day for dinner. Will put some in a quiche i'm making now, but like what others have said. Have it with egg and chips, salad, pots and veg. Might try the carbonara idea though :)

with leftover gammon koint, I chop into chunks, make a cheese sauce, basic white sauce and grated cheese and add mushrooms, bung it in the oven with either lid or foil on for about 20 mins or so, blooming lovely!

Ditto...I have one in the oven.

We will be having it cold with salad and new potatoes.
Pack ups for DH and DS for 2 days.
And if there is any left over, we will have it in a pasta dish or similar.

I normally buy the "bacon joint" but the gammon from TESCOs worked out a better deal this time.

Quote / t usually lasts us about 10 days but if its still there at 14 I chop it into chunks and put it into a pasta carbonara to use it up.[/QUOTE]

10 days:eek: it must be able to chuck its self into the pan after that amount of time.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Sorry, but even in the fridge it must stink if its been there 10 days. Do you have a sense of smell.

I wouldnt even give it to a dog after 10 days.

Its making me queasy just thinking about it.

    Rubbish.

Cooked gammon, covered and kept in a fridge should easily last 10 days.

I usually cook a big gammon at Christmas. I cook it two or three days before the 25th and we generally finish it of around new year.

Gawd, it must be heaving with bacteria by then.

You must have a cast iron constitution, and youre welcome to it.
I'm off (no pun intended) :rotfl:

It is such a shame that when people take the time and trouble to post genuine and hopefully helpful responses, that someone else proceeds to put them down when they quite obviously have no idea of what they are talking about.
