I was in a similar position but somehow my complicated case went through just fine in the end. A good broker is well worth the money in my opinion0

This thread has given me some hope;
Like many on here my partner has perfect credit, me not so.
I unfortunately have 2 defaults 1 from Aug 11 and 1 from March 12, 1 settled, 1 not. We was hoping to apply for a mortgage towards the end of the year, we should have around £35,40,000 looking at houses around the £200,000 mark, I didn't think I stood much chance with this on my file. Still not getting overly confident but it helps to see it has been done.
Good luck all,
Adam0 -
Hi All,
Can I have your opinion on my dilemma at the moment. I declared myself BR in March 2010, I was discharged in Jan 2011 an had a BRO against me till end Jan 2015. My credit rating is still poor (building it up as we speak) 2 out of 5 on Noodle and my wife's is great 5 out of 5 on Noodle. We are looking at getting a 200K mortgage, the house is valued at 500K.
What is the likely hood of us being able to get a mortgage?
Thanks for your help.0 -
I'm sorry I have no experience with BR, just missed payments and defects. I think this thread proves if nothing else that there are some of us who thought we couldn't get mortgages but Natwest accepted us. So best of luck with you application. I guess a good broker would be useful!0

Brief outline, poor credit score on Noddle, DMP in 2010 after a series of defaults trying to keep head above water since 2007. SItuation improved end of 2013, big lump sum payment and better job with overtime, cleared most of my DMP in 2013, remaining is cleared this year. Mortgage A & L 5 yr fixed in 2007 just before the crash at 5.2%, couldn't get out of it, 4.99 SVR since 2012, contacted to try to get on Santander, refused in 2012, 2013. Waited until 1 year no credit searches, Feb this year. Contacted L & C, they went to TSB and got 10yr fixed at 3.04%, no fees or charges, free legal and survey. I'll be debt free in May 2016 and Mortgage free June 2026. I am a happy bunny.0
