Hi, I am unable to log into my Virgin net Email. A pop-up box appears when I try to access the mail with my username and password inserted. On pressing connect it just reappears. Entering the Virginmedia site it also happens and clicking on forgotten username and password it rejects my security question answers.

I still have no Virgin email and can no longer get through on the phone to Virgin due to volume of calls (apparently). I phoned them twice yesterday and was given assurances on the first occasion that it would be fixed after lunch, and then later in the evening I was told it would be working by 9.05 am today (very precise) but still nothing.
I have looked on the forums and one of the superusers is muddying the field a bit by telling people it is because they had ADSL accounts and were given a 1 year grace period before they lost access to their Virgin email after it migrated to Talk Talk - I'm not even sure what that means and don't think it applies to me as I am using Virgin super fast broadband (which is a laugh as it barely limps along) and all my bills are still with Virgin and have just gone up again.
My concern is that a lot of the people complaining say they can still get email and it is only sending email that is broken- but I have lost email entirely nothing in or out. I know I can go online and use net mail but I also have issues with my broadband continually dropping out so even that is not guaranteed.
I have been threatening to leave Virgin for ages now and just wonder if other services are as bad as this?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin , I learnt many yrs ago NOT to use a b/band supliers email , as they can (companies) be bought and sold , delete users etc
in your case it has nothing to do with Talk talk , as that was non fibre customers that were "sold off" to TT
I have both a GMX and gmail accounts , Gmail receives a lot of spam , most goes to spam folder , however GMX is good , very very little spam
gmx usable in outlook or thunderbird
perhaps you should look at it as a (starting as) backup and migrating over eventuality

Thank you Pappa golf.
The plot thickens here though as I have had a lengthy conversation with Virgin and they are saying that most of the problem I have is My email client and not them- they say I need to talk to Thunderbird as it is their system that is having an issue and not Virgin. Virgin admit to the issue of not being able to send emails, but basically say as my web mail works and their engineers are not reporting issues with the receipt of emails then the fault is mine.
I'm reconfiguring Thunderbird now (although I am not techie I am following a step by step guide on Thunderbird) but I did say to Virgin that having been lied to by them several times in the past I am more inclined to believe that this is al a Virgin issue and nothing at all to do with Thunderbird.
I am also going to set myself up a gmail account and try and persuade the people I contract work for (I am freelance) to use that email instead, and if I can get everything moved across I might look to leave Virgin later this year.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm having the same problem with Virgin – unable to send emails for several days.
This happened a couple of weeks ago and Virgin told me it was the fault of the email program I have on my Mac. They said it needed to be deleted and reinstalled, but that I might lose my all my emails if that was done. Since I was reluctant for this to happen, I decided to ask an expert on computers about this when he came back from Spain a few days later. He did so, changed a few settings in about five minutes, and the email worked immediately.
Now again, the out email is not working. I suspect Virgin are doing something at their end that makes the settings on computers not work. I'll have to ask my expert to come and fix this issue again, but it is most unsatisfactory and Virgin should reimburse customers for this fault – not to mention giving them wrong information about how the problem should be fixed!
There has been a 'fault message' on Virgin's help phoneline for several days, and it seems they still haven't fixed this problem!
I've been with Virgin for a long time, but am seriously thinking of leaving them, since I need an efficient email system for work.
P.S. I've just spoken to someone at Virgin and they say the current issue is due to the fact that they are changing to a different system – should be fixed after 4 today (optimistically!).0 -
I haven't been able to access my bills for years with Virgin, I keep phoning and they can't resolve it. Also I signed up for a cheap package last September, £19.49 per month for a year, they changed it in January to £30.78 per month and now are telling me that I can't do anything! I have spoken to a supervisor and a manager and they won't sort it. I only stay with them because it's wireless!0

soolin , go to https://www.gmx.com/ and create an account , you will find a lot less spam than gmail ,and a far better choice of user names incidentally , if you have an android phone , you usually have a gmail accountSave a Rachael
