Stuff the rest.
If the 27 countries would take the same attitude you would end up with very little trade and life the UK would become much more expensive.0 -

In other news, a top consultant has just in effect stated that people coming to the UK from the EU solely to get NHS treatment (i.e. at taxpayers' expense) are what is destroying the NHS,
Yes, the UKIP candidate for Sutton & Cheam has indeed stated that. Doesn't make it correct though.

If 27 countries all pursued free trade with each other there would be no free trade between them?
Among the 28 countries interests differ. Some are keen on security, others on passport free travel, others on free movement of labour, others free movement of goods, others want to protect their agriculture or certain industries, some want open trade in manufactured goods, others in services, including or excluding financial services. If each member state would just pursue their interest and "stuff the rest" there would be no common market of 500 million.0 -

So what? He is a cancer specialist who works for the NHS, and he should know. And I think it is correct – the National Health Service was designed as such, not as an international health service. People who have paid in all their lives should also be given priority over non-British nationals who have paid in nothing.
Cameron may wish to sell off Britain to the international financial 'elite' – but I do believe such plans will be resisted by Britain and other countries, once their citizens cotton on to the designs for a homogenous 'political union'. It's also ironically beloved of McDonnell and Corbyn, who care nothing for Britain and think that such union will result in some kind of utopia, whereas a dystopia is far more likely, with all but the financial 'elite' being very poor, payment for work involving a rapid race to the bottom and a removal of any 'middle classes'. Hopefully not something I will see in my lifetime, but a great legacy for future generations. :T0 -

I'm all for economic cooperation in Europe (which I thought was mainly what the EU was about until recently), but I am definitely not for political union, with Germany and various unelected bureaucrats of the like of Juncker dispensing orders to all and sundry.0 -
@Sapphire - would you mind telling me three orders you have received from "Germany and various unelected bureaucrats of the like of Juncker"?
P.S. Juncker was elected, even if Cameron opposed him.0 -
Anybody watch the programme on Cyprus recently. They still hate the Germans (even more than the Greeks) for the atrocities they inflicted in WW2. The EU is far from a harmonised group of countries.0

This appears to be your stock answer for every point. Anyone who says anything against the EU has you pointing out why they are irrelevant.0 -
