  • Good morning everyone

    Happy Birthday Roz V
:hello: to Snowy, Queenie, Shez and others who are MIA.
kyle how rare was the miniature? Must have been fairly rare to raise £150!! Well done you.
juliap glad the op went well, even if you are a bit sore. Congratulations in getting into Salford U.
frogga sorry DH didn't get what he was due. What goes round, comes round and I'm sure it won't be too long until ex-employer gets his comeuppance.
dlb for £101.00 I would expect the wellies to be gold-plated and self-cleaning. :D
scuzz hope the ecg shows nothing wrong with you. Good luck.
mioliere what a lovely evening you had with DGD and DGS. I'm sure they will remember these times even when they are adults.

DS and DD will be here soon. Can't wait to see DS's face as I don't trust XDH's opinion on all things medical. Hope it IS better than it was though.

DD is going to w**k with me but its only for four hours so it will pass quite quickly. Then we have to exchange some school socks at M&S and take some library books back. I had intended to take them back on Wednesday but boss liked the look of "The millionaire next door" so asked if he could borrow it for a couple of days. I have had to make a diary note at w**k to remind me to get it back off him as he is very absent-minded at times.

Then I have a long weekend! :j DS and DD go back to school on Tuesday so I will be off with them until then. Will spend the time getting organised - though I have already ironed the uniforms. :A Just need to find DD's PE bag and get the PE kits ironed and we are pretty much sorted.

Will do some batch cooking this weekend too as I think next week will be a tiring week for all concerned.

    Have a fantastic Friday. xx

    Morning all :)

Well Yesterday I really fell off the os wagon I just couldnt get myself motivated to do anything

My house is a tip  so I have got to get myself going today as I have 2 days worth of housework and washing to do

The weather is on my side so I will start by getting my WM on its first load and get it all out on the line..Then I shall get stuck into the cleaning of the kitchen and work my way through the house.
I also feel it is time to sort my DS toy boxes out and get some of his baby toys on Ebay..So that should keep me busy all afternoon
Then I am off to work at 6... I dont mind going into work on a friday as it is pay day:D

I am going to end now as I have so much to do and non of it is getting done while I am sat here typing away!

    Hope everyone is ok :)

    Morning All,

Loads of people on here early. How do you all do it?

Congrats on Salford JP! £150 for whisky miniature - whatever next? Good luck to those with tests/hospitals today.

Well didn't manage to paint yesterday. Think the day of painting before put me off, plus severe lack of sleep so I just tidied and decluttered a little. Realised I have 6.5 weeks before we go away and would like to persuade waist measurement back to where it should be - then found myself eating ice-cream after lunch:o That won't do!

After being tired all day managed to persuade myself to walk around the block around 7pm - bumped into a friend walking her dog and trying to tire her 7 yr old out, so joined them in a spontaneous walk up the hills around here. Got home at 9pm and it was a very brisk walk! Felt like I'd been to the gym and heart was pumping well. Decided it was too late for dinner so I guess that might have paid for the ice-ceam! Meant I woke up though, so watched tv far too late. Cats think so too - I'm awake and they're nowhere to be seen lazy so and so's.

Oh well, better get on. Plan for today - clean outside kitchen drain so bathwater drains rather than washes the courtyard :o Paint paint and paint.

    Have a good one.

Welcome back JULIAPENGUIN - so glad you're home and recovering; the worst is over. Congratulations on getting into university. Well done!
TIREDMUM - re men getting under your feet. I always feel like a mean wife because I enjoy time on my own but they do get under your feet, don't they, and it's good to find I'm not the only one! I think us girls are much better at being on our own; I never get bored, always have more than one project on the go and things planned and I enjoy my own company but, sadly, my DH is not the same!

All this talk on here about getting school uniforms ready is making me feel really nostalgic; I am really missing it this year. The closest I've got is DGD showing me her new uniform for when she starts school next week. I know it's a hassle but it's such a lovely feeling when you know you've bought everything they need - until they start losing half of it in the first week!
Anyway, have done some more housework and written out my shopping list - just need to flick the hoover over downstairs then I'm off out. I need to get petrol - the local garage closed down in May and is being turned into a Somerfield Express petrol station, reopening next month, so it's quite a trek to the next one. It sounds like a good idea, having a mini-supermarket within five minutes walk, but the poor local shops will really suffer and they probably won't last very long now. I think they call that progress!

Wow, the roadsweeper has just gone past - can't remember the last time I saw one - I thought they were extinct! The garden rubbish bags have been collected and the road always gets covered in branches and twigs so at least it's being swept this time.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Have a great morning, everyone.

  • Good morning everyone

It's the last day of my holiday today (well I have the weekend BYKWIM  ). Had a bit of a lazy day yesterday, although I did clean my rug in the lounge and it's come up really well. I sprayed areas with Febreze and used a household scrubbing brush - the hair that came up from it was amazing  But it looks like new again now :D

I placed my order with Sainsburys today for my shopping to come tomorrow so I could take advantage of the 25% off when you buy 6 bottles of wine :D I got 6 bottles of wine reduced already for £16.25 :j

Really need to be careful with the pennies this month, as DH took his car in for it's MOT and service yesterday - result £292  Plus I bought a new tumble drier - £210! My old one is knackered - it dries but it takes all day and it sounds like a train  So looking forward to getting that next Saturday, plus I think that's what caused my old fridge freezer to rust up so badly on the outside - and I don't want my new fridge freezer to rust.

I've given up on my knit 1 purl 1 knitting at the moment, because it's stressing me out (living up to my name :rotfl: ), so I'm knitting a scarf - I can cope with basic knit stitch - initially I was going to give it to my aunt as part of her Christmas pressie, but it looks so nice I might just keep it :p I'm using this gorgeous wool in various shades of brown and it looks just like fur ;)

Anyway I've rambled enough, just to say juliaP - glad everything went OK and congratulations on gtting your place

Frogga - sorry your OH didn't get paid

Amie - hope your DD is feeling better today

    (((((hugs))))) all round
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Hi all,

Hope every1 has a gr8 day and big ((((HUGS)))) to all that want/need them.

I feel as if I've neglected every1 because I haven't kept up with who's doing what. I haven't been on MSE much if at all - this forums my home page and I still haven't been reading the daily. I had a bit of a set back 2 weeks ago today and although am doing ok I need to give myself a bit of a kick up the backside. So anyone with a big boot who feels like taking a shot please feel free lol

OS wise I have been really naughty and even spent over 50 pounds in Mr T's the other day!! I'm going to have a think about everything in a min. and get back to grips with everything. It's just hard to get things back together when there are little voices calling u every 5 mins!!!! Even trying to type this is a challenge!!!! I've got one each side talking to me and the dog wanting me to play with his ball!!

    Hope every1's ok!!

    Luv Jxx

Amie399 - Glad that you enjoyed Brighton, hugs to your DD. I love the old Pier too, its such a shame as they were going to restore it, I believe that its beyond it now and it will be removed/replaced.
Scuzz - Good luck at the hospital
mrsmcawber - Fabulous weight loss, well done.
JuliaPenguin - Hope you feel better soon, well done on getting your uni place!

    Good morning all,

Nothing too exciting happening here today, we have a play date with a friend who has a daughter the same age as mine and a newish baby. We're off to their house but i'm making lunch, can only think of making a pasta bake. My friends dd is alergic to dairy products so can't use any cheese, I can't help but think that its going to be quite bland but never mind.
Dad still doing well, i'm a little concerned about him drinking on top of all his tablets, hopefully when he feels a little better he'll knock it on the head a bit - Sometimes I feel like Saffie from Ab-fab!
DH is working from home today too which is nice. DD seems to be teething or turning in to a teenager - not sure which  I think i'm going to ply her with calpol before we go out.
Breakfast - toast (must go and do that now)
    Lunch - bland pasta bake
Dinner - fish and chips! DH and I share a portion and so I claim its money saving!

    Have a great day all

    Hi everybody
Well after an awful middle of the night being awake for 2 hours and then falling back to sleep when it was time to get up I am now all behind ( however got to see what is going on on here)

    Aimee399 - great news

    Roz V- Happy birthday

    Scuzza- Good luck

Mrs Mcawber and Frogga- Frogga you can do it. My DD1 lost her first stone at WW's last night and is chuffed to bits.

Julia Penquin- what brilliant news about Salford. The only way is up !!

Well OH.s last day at work!!! He is swinging from delight to panic. He fully realises in some ways it is really easy as a man. Off to work, work all day come home etc, etc. Now he is going to be time rich. I think it would be interesting to write a book or a diary. We shall see but I am very confident. Been married for over 31 years and still best friends-- most of the time.

Well I must get the final bits of his surprise party done and then just sit back and watch his face. Kids are being great and coming and have all saved up and bought him a super pressie. My retirement "come handy box " ( all things to keep him amused!!!) is packed and ready

Well hugs to all who need them with gentle thoughts. congratulations to all those celebrating.
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Hi there everyone,

This is the last day of August so we will have to make the most of it and hope for a good "back end". At least its not raining so kids can go out and washing can dry.

Today will be tying up ends for me, going to library and I might do some batch baking as I start a new job on 10th Sept and will still have to carry on at Opticians until boss can find replacement.

JULIAP congratulations on Uni place and think of the fact that original health problem would probably have got worse and been more difficult and painful to correctif you hadn't been brave enough to get it sorted now.

FROGGA DH will get a better job and current boss will have problems with future staff because "what goes around comes around"
earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:

    Morning all!

Feeling a bit brighter today - got to work for 4 hours, which I really don't want to do, but have put my make up on and done my hair which I'd managed to neglect for a good few weeks.

House is still looking good from our blitz on Wednesday, washing's out on line so I feel a bit like I'm keeping myself afloat.
