Maybe it all kicked of at work resulting in both of them being dismissed. FWIW I agree with Kiki and Pollycat.0

Why do you care if someone is thinking bad about you.
Screw that.
And i think you should demand your money back. At least ask her once.
And please don't become her friend again, she's a user.0 -

If someone thinks badly of me it's up to them and that's their choice. What I was bothered about was the fact that she was trying to make me look selfish in front of people that I work with.
As for the money, I let that go a long time ago. (To be honest I went looking for her at the time to get my money back and I felt embarrassed and stupid when I saw she had left. It was that bad I didn't want anyone to know). I would never bring that up and embarrass her or anyone on that matter on things she done in the past so I’ll let nature do that all on its own.
We used to be that close people used to say we walked shoulder to shoulder. So I guess when she came back into my life I was hoping that she'd changed and that one day she would give me back what she owes without me having to ask. I can see who she really is this time around and she's actually done me a favour, so I can walk tall say good morning and smile whilst all she can do is give dirty looks. Will I be friends with her again? No. Will I be cordial in work? Yes
Anyway thank you all for taking the time to share your thoughts and yes I was silly paying, but I've learned my lesson and it won't happen again. It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0
