Lovely poncho, mumof2. Maybe his sadness is part of what will become acceptance. Sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. But pigpen is right, you mustn't allow this to become "your problem". You cannot fix it for him, he needs to want to do it for himself. Maybe try stepping back from it a little while he deals with that, rather than risk making him defensive? But whether he does want to learn to manage it or not, you cannot let his hoarding take over your life too.

DS and I are back from our weekend away - tis rather windy here so I'll go bring in our boots that are drying off outside - before they vanish!

We had a great time, and omg we both abseiled off the side of one of those outdoor climbing wall towers. I swear I was shaking on the third lot of stairs up the middle. By the time we reached the top my head was swimming. So hard to not show that fear to DS. But the chirpy chappy in charge of the ropes at the top saw straight through me, lol. He made a big deal of showing the locked karabiners and said just look at me, not down, not anywhere, just me. Bless him, lol. To be honest, I was ok once I was over the edge. I just hung out there for a few minutes until DS got over the edge. What a little star, I was worried he'd bottle it but he was amazing! I still couldn't look down, so I just slowly fed the rope through, and the guys lowered DS down at the same rate so we were together the whole way. I think it was about 25-30 metres high!!!

I was still shaking 20 minutes later :rotfl: and we've both decided we don't ever want to do it again lol.

Laundry baskets are full, chicken is in the slow cooker, and we have the heating on trying to warm up.

    Phew!

    Afternoon all.

    Lovely poncho, Mumof2.

Bossy. Part of my DS's job is teaching people to climb and he keeps trying to get me to try the wall. After your description I will be even more determined not to now!

I've spent quite a bit of time doing gardening today but I can put off the hoovering no longer.

wow - a busy week last week and another to come which will be even more fraught. I am working extra mornings this week (honest, guv, NOTHING to do with the fact that Piggers is in charge) so this weekend I planned to catch up. But DD paid an impromptu visit; anyway I have managed to declutter her to the station but is was a good job she was here, as Benny Bunny (aka Houdini) discovered a gap in the back fence:eek: and while I was in town (after dropping her at the station) I did some shopping - I needed a sympathy card. Have found baking parchment so bought one for my mum, as she was complaining she couldn't find it and YS stuff in M&S which is now in the freezer and my hair colour, which appears to be stocked by Boots only, but that was buy one get one half price.
So cleaning has been limited to Benny's hutch and the LR, so far.
Mumof2 excellent poncho (has knitting envy) and I echo what Piggers said; it's abuse if you are being manipulated in any way. Glad you have a distraction activity.

Should life really be this hard?
That's something I ask myself on a regular basis, too, but for totally different reasons from yours. And no, it shouldn't.

ETA: I've spoken to him and he's grudgingly said he will follow counsellor's advice and speak to someone. He looks sad. I feel sad too.
It's so hard to ask for help - I'm another one who will struggle on when I should really get assistance - it tears me up inside just asking Mr LW to open a new bottle of Oramorph for me ([STRIKE]childproof[/STRIKE] adultproof lids, dontcha know!)
I do hope he'll follow through now he's said he'll speak to someone, and you can both start to feel happy again.

Btw, that poncho is fab! You clever lady! :o

Ooh, I am so jealous!:rotfl: I abseiled off the roof of the John Radcliffe hospital back in 2002 (I was a lot more mobile back then) to raise money for the Blue Cross. I'd have happily gone back up for another go; it was fantastic. :D

    Phew!

Littlies in bed, after two chapters of "The folk of the faraway tree" :D

Both shattered so hopefully a peaceful night. I did miss my littlest moo :A

Just doing a HH paid stuff ahead of tomorrow. I'll be WFH a so I managed to book a Mr T delivery for the afternoon, and I've to pop out to a school meeting in the morning.

I washed their school coats this aft - bonkers I know, but they're in the airing cupboard. We have other coats if they haven't dried by morning. I've put loads of clothes away while they had baths tonight, but there is still stuff all over drying off.

I've left uniform out ready so I just need to get their bags out and I might have a bath myself. Early nights all round here!
