Well Lex, thank you for your response, but if none of that which I suggested is of any relevance, How on earth are you going to prove your case in court when you pursue your threat to take collect+ there in 14 days time ?0

Another £10 from swagbucks for me today.
Sorry to hear you problems lex Hope it is solved very soon.
I had problems with Fedex a couple of weeks ago. I was waiting in for a parcel but I got a card through the door to say they had tried to deliver it.
We were in at the time so he certainly didn't knock very hard. OH rang the depot straight away and they said they would contact the driver to drop it off on his way back to the depot when he had finished his other deliveries. It didn't arrive. Next day OH rang the depot and asked if it was on the van for that day. They said it wasn't so consequently OH had a 15 mile round trip to collect it. I know this is nothing to what you are going through Lex but still frustrating.
Keep up the good work everyone and keep the posts moving.

lexbubbles wrote: »Well they haven't - that's exactly the issue. The shop CLAIM they gave it back to the driver but the package was last logged as "delivered" at the customer's store - and yes he did indeed get an email to go collect it. When he got there the shop said that they gave it back to the driver.
So given that he received an email that it had been delivered I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it was the right label. It got scanned, he got notified, when he got there he was told the parcel had been sent back.
I purchased the label through ebay as recommended by collect+ and when you do that there are no options for different labels. It went off addressed to the shop "Mount Pleasant Stores Reddich for *customer name*"
Nobody's got a clue where the parcel is because it just went awol after they "gave it back to the driver" but since ebay didn't pass the label details on to collect+ or verify them or something (?????) collect+ won't give me any info about it because I "can't prove it's my parcel"
ETA: the parcel has been completely unaccounted for since the 16th.
It sounds to me like the parcel has been taken by either a shop staff person or the delivery driver (maybe i just have a suspicious mind)
Good that your buyer is so understanding but i do hope neither of you end up out of pocket! xxxDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go

I don't think you understand how the data protection act works.
Can I prove I bought a label? Yes.
Do collect+ have any information showing on their system to verify my information in order to access my account as per security policy? Which is how the DPA works? No.
Think of it this way.
>You make a purchase from a shop and get an order number
>You ring customer services and give the number
>They ask you, TO VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY, for name, address, date of purchase
>They verify this with what is on their screen, WHICH IS THE ONLY VERIFICATION THAT THEY CAN USE, and provide you with info about the order.
>If there's nothing on their screen, they can't verify you, and can't give you any info about your order.
>I ring up Collect+ and give the order (tracking) number
>They attempt to verify me and can't BECAUSE THERE IS NO INFORMATION ON THEIR SCREEN
>I cannot get any info, from Collect+, about the parcel
You know who has the info collect+ need to verify me? eBay. Once they pass that on, either via the glitch getting fixed or just doing so manually, I cannot pass security verification on the phone and get info about the parcel.
This is not, and NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER has been, about proving who bought a damn label. It's DPA security putting information behind a door I don't have the key to.
Except now, as I've said REPEATEDLY, the CEO is dealing with it.
Now let's say I have to take it through the courts. Verifying who I am with some minimum wage collect+ employee via their system is no longer an issue. It's, you know, completely irrelevant now. Cast that out of your mind. Doesn't matter. I can provide the label along with written contact FROM BOTH SIDES blocking my access to information due to some ill-communicated technical hiccup and not allowing me to claim for the parcel.
Literally whether Collect+ can verify me on their screen from info that gets brought up there (and hasn't yet been provided by ebay after I bought the label) is ONLY relevant and ONLY matters to whether they'll talk to me on the phone and give me information about the parcel. It has no bearing on where the parcel is in real life, made no difference to the shop's decision to send it back, and doesn't affect my ability to pursue this matter in court.Aqua 0/1850 Cap.One 0/450 Vanquis 0/500 HSBC 0/100
