    ............

Anyway, it's literally the CEO's problem now. I told him to find it or give me my money within 14 days or I'm taking the company through the court.

I'm going to have a drink now.

Hope it all works out well x

Sending a photo of the label, a copy of the label, a photo of a scan of the label or any other form of the label will not help. They still have nothing on their system to compare it against. Until the label details come up on THEIR system FROM ebay (which either requires the glitch to be fixed or ebay to contact them on my behalf and pass the details on manually) they won't discuss anything with me.

There is - literally - nothing I can do.

One last try - IF you send them a scan of the label and you are not the originator - how would you be able to print it ?

And if it's not on their system - How did it get to the shop ?

Edit - And how would "their system" know to send the customer an e-mail ?

    Cheers

well, we have 7 days to go and only 848 posts :( quiet without carbootcrazy, lynnejk and the usual suspects. can't see us hitting our 1500 posts.
I've been spending some time with DH while he was on a few days leave. We don't get much time together with the hours he works and he's usually soo tired as well.

I do think, with the number of regular posters we have on the thread, that making 1000 posts a month is a fantastic result in itself and we shouldn't be beating ourselves up ;)

I'm going to change my days around a bit - get all the things I need doing done earlier in the day. Then I can do my Spanish lessons and spend a bit more time on surveys etc, hoping to earn a bit more. MS seem a bit thin on the ground atm, with only two left for the rest of the month.

I've made £4.45 on regular scans and a couple of surveys today :j

Hope you all have a super Tuesday and stay warm and dry

Oh Lex, I read that all in one go and feel your pain! The saga of the missing parcel that data protection is protecting!

I can't believe you're the only person this has ever happened to. If Collect+ are saying there is a procedure (i.e. ebay must give them the information), hopefully your CEO dude will liaise with his ebay counterpart and sort it!

Hope you can rest tonight and forget about it til tomorrow...

I sold another item last night and made another £13.00 once postage and fees are taken into account :j

Okay - one last time and then I'm giving up.

The label has been printed and has a barcode and will scan. Since ebay haven't verified the details of the label with collect+ the label ON THE SYSTEM, NOT IN REAL LIFE, shows up as blank on their computer. The barcode is there - but no details.

This does not mean the label does not exist. This does not mean the label does not scan. This does not mean the label cannot be tracked. It just means the label cannot be verified.

If I'm not the originator how would I have all of the label details? How would I have any of it? I wouldn't. Everyone knows that. It's common sense. But since there are no details showing up on their system they can't verify anything. Me walking up to them in person and shoving a label physically in their face wouldn't make it magically appear on the system. It is, for the last time, a glitch in the comms between ebay and Collect+ that both sides are aware of but neither is taking responsibility for.

The label showing up as blank on Collect+'s system does not, again, affect in any way the label's (which, IRL, has the details on it obviously) ability to be scanned, tracked, processed, delivered, returned, or anything else. LITERALLY the ONLY thing it affects NO EXCEPTIONS is whether someone looking at the system can see the address on the ELECTRONICALLY STORED COPY of the label and whether they can use that information to verify WHO I AM to then talk to me about the parcel.

NOW do you get it? It has NO EFFECT ON THE PARCEL IN REAL LIFE. It just means they won't TALK to me about the damn thing because they can't verify who I am. Is it stupid? You bet. It's really really really really unfathomably stupid. Is it why the parcel is missing? No. Does it have anything at all to do with the emails getting sent out or the tracking? Not one bit.

I printed out the label VIA ebay's label purchasing service. They didn't pass the details of the label on to collect+'s system because there's something wrong with the system right now. That doesn't mean it can't be scanned or tracked.

The two things are entirely, completely, utterly, unrelated.

The only reason they can't locate my parcel for me is BECAUSE THEY CAN'T VERIFY WHO I AM and so can't/won't instigate an investigation. They will not be able to verify who I am by any means until either the system is repaired or someone at ebay passes the details on to them manually, which they are unwilling to do.

I could walk into the office with the label stuck to my head and it wouldn't matter because it's EBAY who need to verify the details WITH THEM.

This, again, makes not one iota of difference to the parcel's movements in real life. It is not related to whether or not anyone gets an email about it. It has nothing to do with whether or not it was delivered. Totally separate thing.

The glitch isn't permanent - it seems to have happened in the last few days. So perhaps I AM the only person this has actually happened to this week! Maybe ebay told collect+ "okay the system is waky so if anyone calls you asking about a parcel with a label processed by us, tell them to talk to us and we'll verify it with you", and C+ is passing this info onto customers. Only nobody's told the ebay customer service reps about this arrangement and now someone's actually trying to do it they've no idea what's going on!

It's all data protection bull and red tape. Logically there's no way I'd have the details if I wasn't the sender but since when has logic ever applied to bureaucracy :rotfl:

(T tried contacting them as well with all the details and got the same thing - "even though you have all the details we can't share information about the parcel with you because we can't verify you're actually the buyer")
