No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries February 2016

  • Some UUs to report.
    27. Lush Ickle Baby Bot. WDBA
    28. Max Factor Miracle Match Foundation Sachet. Tried this today and it is really good. It's not quite my colour but the coverage is lovely and it's a matte finish without looking powdery. However, I used a clean foundation brush to put it on and then went to do my weekly brush clean about an hour later and it had stained the brush so badly I had to use biphase eye makeup remover to clean it. Don't think it's enough to put me off buying it though, it's really nice!
    29. Nuxe 24H Moisturising Body Lotion. Loved this. Smells amazing, sinks in quickly, no grease. Would prefer if it wasn't a pump because it was a bit too thick and it got clogged. WDBA if I can get it in a tube or pot. I might have a look in M&S as they stock Nuxe and I have some vouchers left from a bank switch.
    30. Lush Charity Pot. Just a little tester size. Have nearly finished a 100g one as well. I like the smell but find it very greasy and it takes ages to sink in. Kept the little tin to decant Lush Superbalm in to so I can start carrying that around as lip balm.

According to my spreadsheet, I'm in minus numbers for sachets and samples now so I don't know what's gone on there! I must have found a hidden stash.

Think that'll probably be it for February but you never know! Pretty pleased with Feb, though: 30 UUs, 25 GAs and 4 TAs. INs were 27 but I'm not bothering to get annoyed with myself about it. As long as my total goes down, I don't mind.

Sorry you've had such a rubbish run Gemzie121. Hopefully things will start looking up soon! :)

Gemzie, I'm sorry to hear about everything that's happened. Hopefully things will be looking up soon!

I've got a few use ups to report.
    6. Clinique Dramatically Different moisturising lotion 15ml. I've never understood what is so dramatically different about this. It's always seemed plain and boring to me. Received in a GWP a while back and used as a body lotion.
    7. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation 30ml. The first item from my 6 for spring to be finished! I used to love this because it was really light but I'm not completely happy with the shade match anymore. I've got another half bottle of it to finish up but then won't buy it again.
    8. Montagne Jeunesse chocolate mud masque. I found this buried in the bathroom cabinet! I never really buy masks any more but it was fun to use for a bit of a pamper!

Oops, forgot to declare my ins!

No7 Protect and Perfect serum 50ml. Used the £5 off voucher on this.

No7 Stay Perfect Amazing Eyes pencil in brown.
    No7 concealer in Calico.

I use both of these regularly and neither has run out yet but I had the £3 voucher to use and there was a GWP and it seems I can't resist those! Already making good use of the dry skin rescue moisturiser from the GWP for a flaky bit of skin on my nose.

Gemzie121 sorry to hear that this week has been rubbish. Next week can only be bettter. Was the lid glass? If so it might be worth being very careful. often if a bottle leaks or breaks i use an empty one and trnasfer the product (it might allow use in the shower).

The aforementioned gold eyeshadow is gone. I threw out a wet and wild eye liner, as i did a test- it always gives me problems with tired feeling eyes. I put it on one eye and a different liner on the other. The wet and wild eye when red and blood shot in minutes, it felt so heavy compared to the other eye.
Finished a lifting eye serum in clarins tester- ok but really do I need an eye serum- I think not.

I did an inventory of my make up
    Blusher 4
    Eyebrows products 2
    Lip liners 5
    Single Eyeshadows 18
    Eye Shadow palettes 6
    Concealer 6
    Bronzer 2
    Mascara 10
    Setting Powder
    Lip products 28
    Eye Pencils 5
    Gel Eye Liners 4
    Eye Primer 1
    Face Primers 1
    Highlighters 2
    Foundations 11 (includes 4 testers)
    Setting Powde 1
    Finishing powder 1
    handcream 5
    body oil 3
    eight hour 1
total.............. 115 OMG!!! this those not include the skincare. At least the skincare is reducing. I knew i had a stash of lipstick but the 28 products is an addiction. I think it may be a case of using it up and not buying another lip stick until i have to use a brush to scoop it out. This is crazy even if every item cost on average £5 (some are lancome, guerlain and elizabeth arden and some high street) It as a minimum would be £140. It's like having half a make up counter to work through- impossible, I fear.

Hope you feel better soon Gemzie, keep your chin up lovely :)

Savingfortomorrow I think I would faint if I did a tally like that of all my make up products  but it's something I really do need to do. I have the week coming up off work, so that is my target for the week. Do my make up inventory!

It was my birthday on Friday 26th, so I have some ins, mostly all make up, which isn't part of my challenge yet. I did however get a lovely teal blue nail polish from the Barry M sunset range and the hardening top coat to go with it, so I need to add them to my spreadsheet. They're upstairs though and OH is still asleep so won't go get them just yet. I also got the Gwen Stefani blush palette which I love!!!! and a Clinique Cheek Pop blusher, an Urban Decay eye primer potion, and couple of eyeshadows for my MAC palette.

My lovely SIL also got me a Lush Rosejam bubbleroon (smells divine) and a tea tree toner tab, which I've not tried before. So will add those to my spreadsheet. She also got me the Glycolic Peel kit from No7, which I'm dying to try. Hopefully tonight if I have time...

I'm currently on 19 UU's, I will list them all on a final end of month round up post, with my thoughts on them. Hoping I might be able to get to a nice round 20, but I'm not sure if anything is close enough to do that! 9 out 10 of my PP items are done and dusted. Just the Korres Santorini Vine shower gel that is hanging in there. It's a gorgeous scent though, so I'm not too upset!

I really need to remember to use body moisturisers more often, I always seem to forget, and I can tell, cos that category is quite a way higher than anything else! Cleaners are next, but my Tata Harper comp win didn't help there, and I always seem to end up with them from GWP's or beauty boxes. I'm working on them!

Gemzie - sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time at the moment, hope things get better soon.

    I have a uu

Soap & Glory Scrub Em and Leave Em - WNBA, this isn't effective enough, it is too thick and the scrubby bits are too rounded and I had to get my skin only slightly damp - too wet it just dissolved, too dry it just fell off.
