I did the same thing with my son's new jumper so I got him to choose something from Topman. He bought a hoodie and this evening has asked me to wash it. You will probably say let the lazy wotsit do his own washing but he is on nights and has very little free time so I don't mind.

  • NOOOO soak it overnight in cold water with lots of fabric softener then rinse and dry flat and it should be ok
  • I think the MSE team need to look up the definition of "dilemma" and bear it in mind next time they're choosing a potential scenario :)

All in all though, the shrunk jumper would fit his action man :rotfl:

    :o:o

And that's all I have to say about that!
  • My wife did this to a lamb's wool jumper of mine, it now fits her perfectly and she loves wearing it. But I never got a new jumper out of her. 55555

Its not fixable because its been felted, or partially felted.

You should explain, and offer to replace. They may not want a new one. If they do, you should ask if they want you to buy, or money so they can buy themselves.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!
  • I'd tell him that if he doesn't like it he can do his own washing in future.;)

  • Yes - you messed it up, you replace it.
    Sorry to say:
The need to actually ask others whether you "should or not" shows weakness of character in my opinion.
please review this attitude, as it's poor. The world needs more people to not think in this way...

Yes, I think since you shrank the last one you should. You might like to ask him if you could replace it with an M and S washable version.
