  • Hi Turtles 021c82e4cb893ef25c6c4f277a419d68.png, hope you are all ok?

Reporting in 2 spend days - yesterday the food budget started again and I had to get a few bits like gluten free bread etc and today I have had my eyebrows done.

Just about to buy some things from ebay to help with the great living room decoration - the floor has been replaced and we have new skirting. Will be carpet shopping on Saturday.

Car went into garage today (work pay) and they washed it so saved a fiver there. Also used some of my meal allowance to buy cakes for the meeting tomorrow so have managed a NSD :j I need to check how many I am on as had one yesterday too.

We found out one of our neighbours has passed away suddenly so I want to buy his wife a card unless I have one in my stash. I bought one of those boxes some time ago that have lots of birthday cards in and a few for other occasions and there might be a sympathy card in there.

DM ad DSD are coming up for the day on Saturday and we are going out for lunch. It's not budgeted for but I don't care :p I haven't seen them since Christmas so will use my TCB towards it. :)

  • Hello and good evening all!

Reporting with NSD number 8 today! So pleased about that. Had a very spendy day yesterday as we had to do our big weekly shop and spent a whopping £95. Toiletries and laundry supplies were included in that figure as almost everything needed topping up. We are optimistic that we wouldn't need to buy any more during the week. We'll have to make do with what we've got in stores as we are down to the last £80 for the grocery and household budget for the rest of the month, and £40 for the petrol budget. On a more positive note, we did get a good ys haul last night, including 10pc tray of eggs for 14p, 3pc pink lady apples for 9p, cucumber for 19p, 8 or 9 pcs lemon and lime pack for 9p, salad pack for 9p, a pot of basil plant for 9p, pot of chives for 9p, crunchy stir fry vegetables for 19p, egg fry noodles 69p (we had this for dinner last night and today's packed lunches x3 - chicken chow mein for less than £2) roast chicken for £2.40, 2 pairs of newborn shorts (for my soon-to-be born nephew) for 50p, a long sleeves shirt for £1.20 and a nice party dress for my niece (going to my Christmas pressie stash) for £4. I also earned 21 points plus 200 bonus points and a voucher for 6p off per liter of fuel (to be used this weekend when my petrol runs out). A good shop I'd say. Plus I picked up a handful of receipts to be uploaded on cos and csnap and one of the receipts yielded £3.40 APG.
    Today I found a 5p roadkill.

Not a great day as the lurching dizziness is back.

A SFD (only spent on ear drops, hoping they help). have also resolved that I need to cut out sugar, fat salt and additives as far as possible, as an excess might also be the cause.

Changed the something different to - doing a jigsaw (so sad). I have three and have decided I will make them up and then donate to charity (all came from cs but two were unopened). Currently working on 1000 piece cover of Sargeant Pepper. Bit of a meditation in itself and hoping for inspiration for next month's thread - so many people, so many great quotes.

Ds3 reached down some things from the top of a wardrobe (maps/ photos/ dress patterns) and have donated two items to charity bin.

Also worked through 90% of the little bits of paper - some I only need to save until my ex energy company gets it's act together and calculates my final bill accurately.

Head is aching so lots of water and very simple diet for the next few days.

Today I am grateful for jigsaws, good reading, hot baths and a firm bed.

I love jigsaws mothernerd! M favourite one is of the moon, with all the craters, rivers, landings etc written on. It's only 500 pieces, but fortunately comes with a location key! My sister gave it to me for my 16th bday, and I can't imagine ever giving it away.

Tog - a great ys haul!

Stewby - congratulations on having the joint savings for a year.:T

Calling - well done on all your payments.

I love jigsaws too. Haven't done one in years not counting kiddies ones.

Quiet on here lately, suppose half term everyone has run off on holidays.

I need to do a food shop, no potatoes, bread and just a little bit of milk left, can wait until tomorrow. Got leftover pork and pasta in a white wine sauce tonight with veggies and defrosted some nice chocolate pudding.:p

Well managed to still have some money left in my account, some dd not coming out till tomorrow and I get paid then.

Changing the way I make my debt repayments this month, saving in one act and paying off a certain date or it cancels my direct debit payment, which I need 2 of so I get fiver a month from Halifax bank . Going to be twitching to see the totals go down. Tf 10.00 to my new pay debts off act today.

Heating went off again last night, getting tad fed up of it now. Gas engineer came again this morning and it worked. Anyway he has no idea whats causing the problem so given his mobile no and he will just come out when it goes off next time. At least it is warmer today.

I need a new mattress looks awful, whilst still comfortable bits coming off it. Have rang shop got it from they reckon I can get a decent mattress for 200 pounds. May pop in there and see if I get a better deal. Nothing like a bit of bartering? Probably cost me more:D

Have a lovely day turtles. TOG come shopping with me:T

  • Hiya Turtles,

I know it's been ages since I have posted, I have been reading, pretty much every day, just not joining in.

I promise I will update you all on where I am in the next day or two, still DF, but for now I have a question for help please.

I have a cream/ivory bra that I wore under a new dark blue jersey top. It was a warm night and the top was unwashed and the colour has run under the arms part of the bra.

I've washed it once on a normal wash but it still has some blue. What do I need to do to try and save it please turtles?

Shy - have you tried soaking it in your usual washing liquid? I know the ads ponce on about van1sh, but I think that normal washing liquids/powders + some patience may get the same result?
