We've had brief hail and snow here after a lovely sunny but cold day. I've been out for at least an hour and a quarter walking the dogs and cleaned all of the downstairs of the house. Also sewed the dog bed back together, so just a few buttons to reattach to my coat and my jobs for the day are done
oh apart from batch cooking some chilli.
I've also paid £30 more towards the debtLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Mothernerd isn't it cold dying yr hair in the garden? Enjoy Pride one of my favourite films inspirational and set in the times when I was politically active.
/QUOTE]
Was a bit cold (had a sweatshirt on and the mini raincoat). My hands got cold and I stuck them up my sleeves and i had a walk up and down the back. But really worth it just to not have the mess - last time I sat on the bed surrounded by plastic and with towels covering everything. This way i only went back inside when it was time to rinse off. had to remember to miss out one line when pegging out in case I got stuck when I needed to go back in the house.
Really enjoyed Pride (and had a little cry). I was also really active then and again a few years later. I always say my children never stopped me doing anything but other people have used my children as an excuse to exclude me. 84 - 85 I was expecting DS1 (he was born on the 9th March, Saturday after the Miners went back to work on the Tuesday.
On the Tuesday I collected some leaflets/ mini mag we had had printed alerting people to proposed cuts to social security. I left my regular welfare rights advice session (more advisors than customers that night) so that I could get to other people to help me distribute the leaflets. Found myself running down the street (did think briefly that it wasn't recommended at that stage in pregnancy) to get to another meeting where I gave out bundles of leaflets and booked dates when people wanted a speaker (did say it probably wouldn't be me), then on to another, finished the day by listening to a miner friend describing their return to work.
Wednesday and Thursday I was stuffing leaflets into envelopes to post to people I hadn't been able to contact in person. Thursday night another meeting and ended up talking to one of my favourite people (gorgeous man) about worrying that we were running out of time for decorating the 'nursery'.
Friday went to buy new trousers for partner, then had s*x, before he went off to a conference and I went to my ante-natal class. By evening I was clock watching, scrubbed the bathroom floor (angry that nothing was ready) before going to phone an ambulance and hastily grabbing half dry clothes off the radiators. Spent the night alone in a dark room at the maternity hospital (did venture out once to try to find a phone to tell partner to come back).
He phoned the hospital at 7 am and they told him it was a false alarm and they would send me home when the doctor had seen me. He phoned back just before the start of Conference and was congratulated on the birth of his son (9.32 am). DS1 was 3 weeks early. Some local councillors were coming back for an urgent meeting and dropped his dad off.
I came out on the Friday and DS1 went to his first Public Meeting (one of the things the leaflet was advertising) at 13 days old and to his first Union weekend school at 14 days.
I have the Judy Collins version of Bread and Roses as it is one of the things I want played at my funeral. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKEr5U8ERgc
I have a had a lovely restful day, not spent any money and feeling ready for whatever the coming week brings.
Today I am grateful for all kinds of moisturising creams/ gels, a lovely clear but cold day and for a lovely film.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
We have had snow in Suffolk - walked the dog at 5.30pm - no sign of rain or snow, half way round it starts spitting and then we have snow.
It didn't feel too bad being out in it but when you saw it in the car lights it was actually quite heavy.
Doubt it will settle although we do have a weather warning in place.
NSD today - may have to spend tomorrow as need washing powder and the new grocery budget starts.
Tomorrow night may be takeaway as the sofas are upended in the kitchen and I can't get to the oven or half the kitchen. Having the lounge floor replaced tomorrow as we have wet/dry rot.
May take 2 days to complete!0 -
Bob - hope the week goes smoothly for you and you get to rest up and take it easy.
Today I am grateful for pins (sooo useful for getting splinters out), for friends dropping by, for reading with dd, for getting a workout done (no, bob, I am far from 'slinky'!), for a good rugby match.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
15 miles up the road to the town where I work - heavy snow. Home - cold but bright and sunny! Weird weather day.
Got a few good YS bargains in Mr S today - couple of reduced butternut squash, some celery, sausages and a massive block of cheese reduced from £3.84 to 64p. I also got myself a new pair of work trousers using my points. Nice
Nothing romantic for Valentine's Day - football on telly. Me finishing my crochet unicorn and that's about it.
But I don't have to get up for work tomorrow. Happy Days! :j:j:jNot giving up

Yay another NSD in the bag, taking us up to NSD number 7. Going to bed soon feeling accomplished as we have managed to do all the household chores on the to do list. First in a very long time that I'm saying good bye to the weekend not feeling cream crackered and yet only managing half of what I wanted to do. For that reason I am quite looking forward to going back to work tomorrow knowing I haven't got much unfinished business at home.

When someone tells you it can't be done, it's more a reflection of their limitations, not yours. If there is something you've been waiting to do, take at least one small step in that direction today.
What is your small step? Is it another NSD? Or keeping to a shopping list? Keeping bills down? Clearing yourself some me-time? Taking photos of items to sell?
I'm going to buy my mum a load of flowers as it was her birthday last week and we are travelling to see her this week. But from aldee, and with a list of food bits. And within budget, of course...

My small step is one survey a day. I keep thinking I don't have time but one a day is totally doable.
I think I'm overdoing the 'me time' at the moment, but I need this half term to recover from work.
Woke up to snow outside this morning - thankfully my first 'thing to do outside of the house' is at 1200 taking a couple of cats to the vet. I've budgeted £60 but really hoping for less (unlikely)Not giving up

Morning turtles
It was a NSD yesterday taking me up to 8 (I think). Today should be one although it depends on OH as it is his birthday so he may want to go out and do something later. However, there's a bit of snow here so that will probably put him off - he hates snow!
