A NSD for me too. I left work early today (taking some time back) and it was so lovely to walk home in the sunshine - that can be my first step towards a better work/life balance
Felt full of energy so went to the gym as well.

Hi everyone!
Stewby thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at that website.
Calling I haven't seen any on Facebook but will take another look, thank you. Sending you hugs. You seem to be going through a lot lately. Please take some time tomorrow to do something just for you. Look after yourself.
SFD 7 for me today. Not much else to report today.
Good night all!0 -
Very interesting though to ponder apple, thank you
calling hope the cold has receded
tog how lovely of your sonwhat a nice compliment
Today was a spendy day - chocolate and chip shop tea. I'm really flagging now it's nearly half term and tomorrow is another 12 hour day in school. However I have done another tutoring session tonight and been asked to double my hours for that student, which is good for the debt. I need a new pair of boots so will probably not bank the money and buy a pair next week. Also just got invited out for a day at the races in March and was offered a free ticket, I do appreciate my familyMy dad even gave me £10 at the weekend as he said he'd won a little bit of money and wanted to spread the joy (he gave my sisters and one of their boyfriends £10 too)
Hope you've all had good daysLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Knew when I woke up that I wasn't going to be 'running around' today so I have tried to make it mostly a relaxing, fun day but with a few 'maximum effect for least effort' things done.
So opened the upstairs windows which was beneficial but got very cold by lunch time. Persuaded DS3 to ditch a whole filing drawer of old paperwork. Filled a whole bin bag of rubbish. Put a load of washing on which has dried outside. Emptied the bathroom shelves (soon to be kitchen plinths) and put in the 2 old kitchen cupboards - wider shelves so all the towels have gone in there rather than the bottom of my wardrobe. Emptied a set of drawers that are going - not sure if they are worth donating, may have to get the council to collect them (spent over a year in the attic and I can/ think I can still smell damp). I have started a new charity sack of my items. Cut up 3 sheets and 4 pillowcases for rags.
All the uprights for the under stairs shelves are screwed in place. Would have been finished (and would have been a SFD) but realised it was easier to replace the light bulbs that had gone before the shelves were in so went out at 4 pm to buy all the bulbs (+ small uprights for the corner shelving and a nail punch for starter holes - spent £24 something so put down £25) and potatoes (to get rust spots off the spotlight covers) plus yoghurts (spent £2.65).
Had something planned for 'doing something new' but had misread the leaflet and was looking at the times for the sessions at the other end of the borough. However about eighteen months ago I decided to add some gravitas to my reading material and think it's time to restart that habit so will make a start on my Margaret Attwood tonight. Several friends raved about her but I found her difficult to read - think it maybe because she is Canadian. I was so immersed in American literary novels and it's a different 'voice', familiar and yet not. I have enjoyed some things she has written but others not been able to get into at all.
Today I am grateful for looking at things/ thinking about things differently - may have talked myself out of buying the 'new to me' furniture but still donating the unwanted items (it's time, it really is), for my new shelves (love the under stairs all empty) and books (nipped in the library in between all the running around yesterday as when I couldn't sleep I found I had left myself with only 3 serial killer type novels to read).

Thanks Fmess cold going slowly gs now got it. He's going to be off school rest week.
Spoke too soon heating not working again tonight engineer coming again tomorrow. Between him, window fitter and Bgas sales giving me a boiler quote at least half my day off wasted. Arranged them all same time so a fun afternoon. Seriously if I do not get out for a walk at the very least my head will explode.
Kept myself warm tonight by pigging out, had roast dinner and then cooked my body weight in pancakes. Feeling tad fed up at moment

Last post before hitting the sack. It turned out not be NSD after all! After I finished the curtain for the bathroom, I got into doing the "pillow case refashion." I couldn't go to my sewing class this evening because technically I am still off sick so I thought I would spend this last day as a me-day. Hubby came back from work but soon had to go back after an hour as he is on call and he got called. He knew I was deep into the sewing zone so he said to call for fish and chips for supper, which we did. It was taken from the dining out budget, £23 for 4 including delivery is not too bad (46p cash back on quidco). Not good for my plan to lose weight but it felt good. We don't always have take aways so when we have them occasionally, it feels like a real treat.
I called my bosses this afternoon to let them know I will be in tomorrow and I was a bit taken aback when they said they missed me so much and they're glad I'll be back. That's never happened to me before. They must have been inundated with work whilst I was off or they're just being polite. Either way, I need to hit the sack.
Wishing you all a happy Thursday tomorrow/today."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Hello...
Have a couple of ideas that have worked for me this month. There's a frozen sliced loaf for emergency toast and sarnies and the heating's on the bare minimum, 30 mins, 4 times a day.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Hi folks.
I couldn't post yesterday as it was a bit of a squeeze trying to fit everything in.
My sister gave me a voucher for a cut and blow dry and then 25% but I still didn't have to pay!:D
I then went on a 7 mile walk in the sunshine. I needed to do a bit of thinking and walking is my way of dealing with stress. I was fasting for 2 meals, as it was Ash Wednesday, breakfast and lunch and that kept me out of the house and my feet out of the pantry! :rotfl:
My friend took me for a curry later for dinner, so I was well and truly treated yesterday! :A

I'm with you FunBrum a good walk is all I need to turn my frown upside down
Just to say I'm reading along although for obvious reasons not much debt slaying going on at the moment. My main personal challenges at the moment are worrying how I will cope when all the help leaves on Sunday. My MIL has to go home after 2 weeks helping us so much I can't begin to say. And my OH has to go back to work. I am definately stronger but I am still scared I will end up back in hospital. Which is an unfounded fear but it's there all the same. Plus trying to get my body well enough to go back to sole bf ing of daughter who has had to go straight onto a bottle against my wishes but through necessity. So lots to worry about really but trying to see the silver linings.
Apple - hope your husband is baring up alright. And you.
Calling - hope you feel well soon. It isn't fun trying to look after a little one when you feel lousy.
TOG - Glad you are on the mend. Your lovely son's comments are inspiring.
All the best
