I agree with you, I was just making the point that other people do judge. And sometimes conformity is the social "norm".

When you get out of where ? ::eek::)

    The interview hahaha

She's done what she often does.. typed something provocative, got a response then gone back in and edited her post. You've quoted her post before she snuck back in and deleted the first bit

When did it become against forum rules to edit your post? I do it on a regular basis, edit things to make more sense or remove something that may sound argumentative - it is clearly why the edit button is there, is it not

This is exactly what Jagraf has done above - her original post said ''I agree with you,'' as per my quote above but it has since been changed to ''I agree with you on some points,'' and I understand that this means the latest update and is not a big deal

When you do it for the purpose of trolling, my dear :)

Write something provocative.. get a harsh reply.. then go back and edit your original post to make it look harmless and inoffensive and like the other person is being unreasonable.

    Very naughty :naughty:

Ironically, you've just gone back in and edited the post I am now replying to.. LOL
left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense

I agree, Pigpen, pyjames should not be worn outside to take the children to school, to attend parents evening, (seriously, have people not changed out of them all day?), to attend a school play or to pop to the shops.

A particularly bad move is to tuck trouser ends of bunny/cat/bear covered pyjamas in to a pair of Ugg boots (doesn't matter if they're genuine or not, still not a good look).

Now.. there have been a few occasions where I have been asked if my actual clothes are pj's.. yet my pjs which are not covered in animals have been unnoticed.. If I were to take pics of trousers vs pj's you would be hard pushed to tell the difference.. Pink tartan? Christmas baubles? polka dots?snowflakes? glorious Aztec prints? grey cashmere? .. you would never know..

I haven't ever worn them for attending anything.. I have worn them to the shop at 11pmish when I realised we had no milk/bread and needed some for breakfast in the morning so dashed out.. maybe 2 or 3 times... under my parka and knee high boots. I wouldn't do a full Tesco shop in them, that's an outing .. a school run is not an outing it is a chore.

I regularly pop to my daughters in them, even my mickey mouse ones (my mother bought me those).. she lives across the road. She is usually sat there in her lovely animal adorned pjs .. unless she is going out or been out.

I wouldn't own uggs, fake or genuine either :p overpriced, unsupportive, terribly bad for the trotters.

So, if other people cannot tell the difference between pj's/leggings/trousers then they aren't really causing anyone any offence at all are they? So the whole argument is dead.

but bed socks... they are like heaven.. I always always wear those.

Pickle.. exactly.. my life is mine, if others do not like me I do not care, I neither seek or wish for anyone elses approval. I live within the confines of the law, attempt to be nice to others and treat them in a civil manner, which I'm really not very good at :p.. I'm happy with me and my offspring think I'm alright and that's all I need. what I choose to put on my body to keep warm is irrelevant. If I wore a suit or swimwear or pjs or a ballgown.. I am still me and would behave just the same... it is lipstick that changes my behaviour ;););)

Back to knitting ears now. :)

    Are you bored, this evening?

  • Technically I do! Everyday. At shortly after 7am. And again at 8am.

They are not pjs I ever wear in bed, but technically they are men's pyjama bottoms: thick fleecy trousers that are more 'lounge wear' that I wear with a top and jumper. I get changed into them first thing, after showering; they're warm! All in navy blue, so an outfit that doesn't scream 'pyjamas' at first glance. I'm clean and tidy.

It's an interesting one. On the face of it, I understand all the 'it's lazy and what kind of example is it setting' thoughts. Well actually I'm doing okay on that front. I would never go out with too much flesh on show or squeezed into something too small; my teens don't wear clothes that show off midriffs, cleavage or most of their legs.

So I don't necessarily think it's a big deal when analysed (DH would disagree, he's all about doing the right thing and society's expectations) but it makes fab headline news in areas of exceptionally high unemployment and in low performing schools where standards need to be raised. DD1 is on target for 11 A*s this Summer and wants to study medicine; I don't think taking her to the train station every morning in my pjs is causing much negative influence on her, though we did have a laugh about it earlier this week when I told her about the article mentioned on this thread!

I'm just off on the school run now. I have three 8.30pm pick ups a week - always properly dressed for those!

Ironically you have just edited yours to prove I have edited mine

You are going on block, you are tedious and have zero of interest to me to say and is not the first time you have deliberately sought me out on a forum, completely out of the blue, in an attempt to argue.

Laziness, sheer laziness, that's what it is. No excuse for it!

Not necessarily. There are loads of reasons.

Laziness is not why I choose to do this, because I do have the choice. I get dressed into my pj loungewear in the morning. I could easily throw jeans and a jumper on, who cares, there's not much difference.

And Jeremy Kyle? Dear God. Do you not know any intelligent, busy stay-at-home parents? Most have cleaners by the way! :D

For those that think it acceptable to do the school run in pyjamas, would they think it ok for their 6th form children to go to school/ college in pyjamas?
