I'm quite happy with Bounts. I've just redeemed my third voucher. We'll see how long it takes to arrive.

I hope a service like this can't simply be off-put by someone shaking the device to record more steps like you could with pedometers.
    :T :money: :T
  • Unless I update my phone to IOS 8 or better I cannot use the Bounts App or any of the associated 'step' apps.
Perhaps you should include this in the relevant part of your newsletter so that other readers dont waste their time as I have?
  • OH just received his £10 garden centre voucher. Its taken a while but at least its still working for us. I sent for mine a couple of weeks later so still awaiting.

  • I'm a dinosaur aged millions of years and started using a tablet , an ASUS which is an android, about 2 years ago.

Now that might make it sound like I know something, but it's just words.

I dont have a smartphone and don't want to buy a fit it or similar.

I see you can put an app, whatever an app is, onto a smartphone that records steps? Can one do the same on my tablet and then use Bounts? If so, please can someone give step by step instructions as for a computer illiterate great grandmother so I can use Bounts? I do a fair amount of walking and might do more if I join.

To show how bad I am with computers it took me about 2 hours to register and post this!

Many thanks if anyone can help.

Hi, can anyone please clarify "your first activity" for me? I signed up as a new member on Wednesday using the MSE referral code, and have completed over 7,000 each day but haven't had the 250 extra points awarded. What "activity" do I need to do to get the extra points from the referral? Thanks.

Edit: the bonus points were added on Saturday, so please ignore this post now!

Try downloading a step counter app it may work if your tablet has an accelerometer built in.

Although you will have to use the moves app for android. It only counts about half the actual steps you do. If that!

After Bounts getting further mention from MSE this week I have signed up & im find it works well so far. Reading through the thread I can see there have been a number of issues and frustrations with the development of the app & the increased customer base but so far so good for me this week. I have an increased incentive to get motivated, and discovered to my surprise that the Health App on my iPhone has been tracking my steps since Apple introduced it; faithfully recording information daily for years which I've only just found a use for. I find the Health App is pretty accurate in recording the steps I achieve each day. I have added Runkeeper this week as well and I'm using this to track "fast walks" rather than runs, which adds a further activity which I am gaining points for. I would recommend people give the App a go, the experience you get does seem to depend on the technology you are using it on though.
