Thoughts on Bounts (Get paid for walking)

I've had the app for a day and a half; quite possibly going to sign up for premium+. The lack of decent vouchers currently available and some issues listed here are slightly off putting but I have had no issues so far. Just wanted to add a couple of things:
Moves
A lot of people seem to be complaining it's not tracking all their steps. I hadn't noticed this and looking at step per km estimates online I have approx how many steps I should have from the distance I know I have walked. For reference in using an S7
Strava
Some people have said this doesn't work well for recording walks. Again it works fine for me, maybe I just walk quicker than you guys
Someone also said it wasn't earning points when synced. Make sure your run/walk is a couple minutes over 20, strava knocks off the seconds you were stood still. Happened to me yesterday, stopped the app at about 20:10 and synced it and dint get points as I was only moving for 18:45!
I should be able to make £40 a yr after taking sign up fee into account on premium+ just using moves and tracking my 20 minute walks to work and back on strava too. Hopefully more than that as some weekends I do lots of walking too and some weekdays I'll go over 14k steps.(the 40 quid figure is based on 2 x 20 mins and 7k steps a day 5 days a week)
Just have to hope the gift vouchers come back! Although if it takes months to earn them I can stomach waiting a few weeks to get my hands on them.
Hope this has been helpful/informative, happy to answer any questions you may have!0 -
I use Runkeeper to track activity so 3 x 20 mins a day.
Plus Fitbit to track steps. If I don't quite manage 21,000 steps the Health app on my iPhone will pick up the extra 20pts.
The app is also linked to Facebook and Twitter so that's an extra 10pts a day.
I usually clock up at least 130pts a day, plus whatever I win on the reward wheel. Maybe I could get more by checking into various venues but I've not found any near where I live.0 -
I contacted the MSE Deals Team about the concerns over the vouchers - lack of choice, and delayed dispatch - earlier this week, and MSE Oli replied with this -
"We got in touch with Bounts about this and it told us it's in the process of changing suppliers for its rewards as it was having issues with the previous supplier taking a long time to process rewards and send them out to users, as you're clearly aware.
Bounts gave us this statement:
"bounts have recently started working with a new supplier to offer you rewards. Why? Because there were on-going issues with lost orders, delayed delivery times and wrong amounts from the previous supplier bounts were working with. bounts continue to add more and more products to the shop - currently about 70% complete."
We'll check up on the progress of this with Bounts and update the blog with any new info we have.
Best wishes,
MSE Oli"
I know this doesn't address missing points from sync issues, but it's good to know the MSE Deal Team are keeping in touch with Bounts about the issues people are feeding back. I did ask Oli if the Deals Team would post in the forum but as they haven't so far I thought this information was worth sharing.0 -

Bounts have been saying this for months now! :mad:0 -

Ah right, thanks for that.Saves me worrying that it's got lost.

This may be stating the obvious but for those attempting the walk your way challenge:
Try to avoid syncing until the end of the day; particularly if you think you won't hit the next 7000 steps. If I sync after hitting 7000 bounts will not sync again unless I get a reward for going over 14000. I've lost about 5500 steps in 3 days making it a lot harder to hit a 14k a day average!
If you're just about to go over 7 or 14k and don't think you will reach the next milestone; do not open bounts!! Wait until the end of the day so you don't miss out on your extra steps!0 -
Just to clarify, some have said there are issues with the gadgets tracking steps. This is not my issue at all.
My Garmin Vivofit 2 is recording all my steps fine, but when I sync my Bounts account, the number of steps Bounts says I have done usually doesn't reflect the true numbers at all. Interestingly, this error is always that it records far fewer steps than I actually did (surprise, surprise).
I have had no further response to my email about this for 8 days now so have sent them a little reminder today that I am still waitin.
Keep on stepping!

In the name of fairness though, I have to add the following:
1. It has correctly transferred my steps for the last week (so fingers crossed)
2. I won 7 times in one day on the reward wheel.
So maybe things are looking up!
All the best

its a bit desperate now lol
must be 99% of the rewards are out of stock0 -
Not only that; amazon vouchers are more expensive now; with the promise that more stuff can be made more expensive in the future. Yay!
Rather unfair to move the goalposts after people have dropped 15 quid on a membership!!
Trying to convince us to spend points on the raffles but they've stupidly bundled all the prizes together so chances of winning must be pretty terrible on just 1 or 2 entries.0
