Does anyone know how to connect bounts to Google Fit (or the other way around)? I have both of the apps installed on my Android phone but how do I get them to communicate with each other?

I've tried using Moves the last few weeks and it is very hit and miss! Hence the switch to Google Fit for tracking steps.

Just read your post and got excited that there was actually an alternative to Moves, which is a waste of time drastically underestimating steps. Unfortunately like you I can see no to connect the two. In fact in google fit if you click on connectable apps Bounts isnt even on the list so doesnt look like they are actually compatible. Email them and ask. I will too.

I registered with Bounts when MSE was pushing it a while back (March?). I took a premium plus account for £15 and now have over 11,000 bounts, but every time I look everything is out of stock, except the raffles. Looked again today and as usual out of 57 items only the raffles are available. As far as I'm concerned I've been diddled out of £15 for something that will never allow me to spend the points I've earned. Basically it's a con!!

In case it helps ... I formally complained to them that there were never any amazon vouchers in stock. I initially got a blah response, but a few days later received an email informing me that the amazon voucher I wanted was now available. Funny that ...

Perhaps if they got more formal complaints they'll shape up?

    No amazon vouchers now.

What there are now are vouchers which you pay £20 and spend your points for a £25 voucher. Not sure what the point of that is? I certainly wont be doing it!

I think they have run out of money so.cant order vouchers. Cant see any other reason?

Also how can digital vouchers be out of stock? There is no "stock"
  • I managed to order two vouchers in the last three days but as soon as i went back in to get another it was out of stock making me think they're was probably only a couple there anyway.
I've been worth bounts about two years and previously the shop was always stocked and vouchers ranged from £5 up to £25 and more. Now it seems everything is £5.
Is this so they can get more vouchers in the shop for each merchant?

They are a victim of their own success and with so many members now demand is outstripping supply.

I read the twitter feed of the founder of bounts who is now offering refunds to people who have paid for premium and are not happy with it. Is this a way of getting the membership down without redeeming points?
  • Bounts claim to have 3.5 million members. If each of those 3.5 million earned just ONE voucher a year then Bounts would need to put up nearly 10,000 vouchers every day to meet the demand. I suspect it's more like 100 a day at the moment.

Although Bounts have alienated most of their customers they have also created a huge problem for themselves. While people are unable to obtain vouchers they are still accruing points. It means Bounts have a huge liabilty for all those unspent points, which is growing by the day. Eventually they will have to meet that liabilty or go out of business.

It seems now they have realised this and have tried to get people to add cash when ordering a voucher. No-one is going to be interested in doing a month worth of exercise just to get a £5 discount off a £25 voucher when there are already casback sites and promotions which will give similar discounts for no effort.

So with a disaffected customer base and consumer complaints starting to gain attention outside I reckon their lifespan is now very limited.

What surprises me is that Oxford University are still happy to associate themselves with a company that is getting so much negative publicity. Perhaps they need alerting to what has been going on.
  • It seems Bounts have now disabled "visitors posts" from their Facebook page now :rotfl:

Hi all, is anyone else having issues with Bounts syncing with Moves? I've just got a new phone and it's not working ):

Also does anyone know how to stop it repeatedly asking me to sync with Google Fit? It does this everytime I open the app

I had same problem, I had to access Moves and sync from there by getting a code, then on Bounts to enter the code.
