    I bet it was a new build??? HOw is this possible. It takes 15 days alone to send and receive stuff from solicitors.

    9-10 weeks. Me and vendor was chain free and property was vacant.

    5 weeks. No chain and I was (effectively) a cash buyer. Exchanged and completed on the same day.

    Should have been quicker, but the vendor didn't have a lot of the paperwork we canted (building regs certificate from when the central heating was put in for example) despite the fact the house had been on the market off and on for nearly 2 years you'd think they'd be eager to go! Plus my solicitor wasn't exactly rushing herself to get things sorted.

    My offer was accepted at the start of October and finally going to be completed by the end of this month... Feels like it was forever. So about four months.
  • Six weeks. We were ready at four.

    9 weeks from having our offer accepted to moving in date. That was our suggested date of entry and they were happy with that.

    We were FTBers and we also exchanged and completed on the same day :)

    Our offer was accepted 9th December. We are moving Friday, exchanged last Friday 4 of us in chain . Amazed as we had Xmas and New Year in between.:j :j

    No, not a new build and the house was vacant and cleared when I offered. Already done my own survey, no mortgage req'd, just basic searches, and I told my solicitor he had two weeks . . . or else :cool:
