Hi all not been on for a while, had a few days away at my parents at the beginning of the week then with the kids being off school I've not had much time to myself.
I'm currently looking at a spend of £255.55 but I'm sure I must have got some other shopping but can't find the receipt and I paid cash.
Off to have a read back through!Grocery Challenge 2024

Hmmm. We seem to do well until half way through the month then things go a bit pete tong, I'm not sure if it's because in my head I'm thinking £60 a month, so in the first x2 weeks if we are over it then reduces the remaining weeks, and that in turn makes me 'forget' about it as I know it's not achievable for us (yet).
Anyone else like this? Tips welcome. I could apply it to every budget, not just groceries!
Spends at A*di today of £18.92. Shouldn't need anything else this week, fingers xd, so budget looking good so far.
Hope you all have a money-saving Monday and stay warm and dry

Morning All,
Walked to Li**ls this morning for bread and milk and spent £27.65I got two big joints of lamb to freeze, as they had legs on offer but we didn't need them and I'm really cross with myself. That's £25.00 that won't be going into our holiday fund. I'm still below budget, but was doing really well and am feeling really fed up now.
I MUST stop buying just because the offers are so cheap compared with where I used to shop. Think I'll go back to leaving my cards at home and just take enough cash for what we need. I know we'll use what I bought but I've been trying to run our stockpiles down, not build them up again!!
Going to sit down with a cup of tea and think through the March budget.0 -
Hi
NSD yesterday. Just spent £8.64 in Spar (includes lemsip as house of lurgy at the moment). DD made some cereal type things from slightly past best Cheerios yesterday so that counts as up cycling doesn't it!?
Keep safe and warm

£71.84 Mr T order done for tomorrow at 5 p.m. This is £4.50 over budget but mince was on offer so I am stocking up like mad. Have also ordered lots of everyday value pasta, usual vast amount of milk, butter, bread etc. Also may have accidentally got a load of easter eggs (I like them, they never survive to Easter).
Anyway, job done and at half the cost it would have been had I wondered up and down the aisles shoving stuff in a trolley.
Now back to work me.

Dd in ald! As I type. Am back under budget. Have cancelled mr t!!!!0 -

I do that too - AND the other way round, if I do well the first couple of weeks I tend to "blow out" later! I have to work week by week, over a month I lose the plot more easily. Am doing OK this month but have stuck closely to meal plans and not done too many top-up shops, have also thought of alternatives using what I had in rather than buying extras in between. Trying not to overstock at the weekend as history shows I chuck out fruit and veg if I do that!
Sig updated and this should be the last week of the month, see you in MarchGC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000
