  • Hi All !
I have been following on the background for a while and is amaZing how you guys are so orginised !
We are really trying to reduce our costs . 2 adults & 1 very hungry teenager - We spend about £550 at least on food I'd like to reduce to max £350 ...
I have read most posts and Have adopted most tips given here !

If you don't mind I have a few questions :
    I often see a few words which I don't understand :
Food from Store is one - are these ready meals ?

Also I noticed some of you say "I won a voucher " how do I apply for those ? I am on UK extreme Coupons byt never won anything
I have also entered the Post Code Lottery
And tried to answer surveys but they are not supported on my phone so I will try to use a PC ...
Since watching this thread I have saved a lot ... I will be adding all up at the end of the month to see how I have reduced overall :D

    Thanks a million !!!!

Found a receipt in purse I forgot about from last Thursday. £6.75 spent in Sainsbobs. Saturday £1.80 was spent in our village shop on a few bits of chocolate and crisps for the grandkids treats. Signature all updated.

Got everything I need for evening meal tonight. Out to restaurant for meal tomorrow as it's youngest daughters 18th. I do need food for Thursday though and will be out of house most of day and evening of Thursday so shall have to go this evening I think and do a small shop.

Have a good day everyone x

Welcome to the Fred. If you want to join in you're very welcome and could post a target budget if you wish.

    Food from Store
    - for me it would mean using stocks already in such as pasta or pack of bacon or could be a frozen meal base, as many on here batch bake, as do I, and freeze lo for another time or three :D

Today is another NSD here. We are having HM Coq au Vin from freezer, with duchess pots and steamed veggies.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and are staying warm and dry

  • Hi,
£20 today- much cheaper than anticipated with DD and niece!
Got to do big shop tomorrow (or Thursday if cba) so will probably be hefty. Must make sure I do a proper list rather than wing it as will spend a fortune otherwise.
    Keep safe and warm

I had shopping delivered yesterday, which came to £71.95. It is going to be very tight to keep in budget this month.

  • Beloved DD just went to AL*i last night and spent £16 on milk and bread and we are now Ok until the 23 feb. I am incredibly hopeful of staying in budget. I must simply not go near a supermarket myself. I give her a list and she sticks to it.

Danger area AL*i do not sell custard powder, I have run out. If I go near a shop that pot of powder could cost me hundreds!!!!

    November NSD's - 7
  • Afternoon all :-)

T3sco delivery came today £86.64 but that include nappies and wipes for a month, toilet rolls for about 3 months and washing liquid and softener for 3 months so not too bad really.

Definitely think I'll be nicely in budget this month. Will have a final shop delivered next Tuesday.

Meal planning is going well and making it all much easier but I still need to pull all cupboards out and see what we have in store.

    Off to update sig now.

Just done Asda order online £98.18. Should take us to end of month ( I hope) and had couple of bulk buys (washing powder, logo rolls, cat food ) which will last a bit longer. Actually probably not the cat food the girls are piggies!
