I spent 4.87 at @ldi after work on some bits. Cycled up the massive hill to get there too. I could only buy what needed as no more would fit in my rucksack.

After reading the mrmoneymoustache website, Im thinking of only cycling to get groceries. I will still meal plan but only buy in for a few days at a time, there is only two of us. so it shouldnt be too much effort - we shall see.

  • So, February is done for me as its payday tomorrow and the account "resets".

This week we had another large-ish bill of £82.15 from Mr S. That included some houeshold bits and pieces that were on offer and some bits to make up some freezeable meals for the kiddy-wink.

My total for the month is £290.15/£300. Quite happy with this considering I haven't really meal planned properly and we keep buying "interesting" things for the baby to try that aren't necessarily in season...or local.
How long til pay day?

    Evening all

Butcher's today was £33.85 - which I took out of my Bulk Buy, which now stands at £82.26.

We had a steak pie from the butcher's with mash and steamed veg for a change for dinner.

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday

£6 spends yesterday as a top up. x
  • Only second shop this month today, and most of that will be fruit and veg I am hoping it will come in around £12-15 fingers crossed.I keep digging in the cupboards and finding bits I had forgotten about :):):) so have managed to cut right back on shopping this month :):):)
Only ten more days left in this month as its the shortest one so I should have cash left over in my food purse, this will get stashed towards my self-catering spring break in 8 weeks time :):):)

    Frugally onwards chums

  • Hello!
Looking like we'll come in at about £390 ish for the month. I'll update properly when Mr S has delivered tomorrow and we've been to the butcher later today.
Not sure how I should record a bulk spend though. I've taken it out of this months budget but I have enough chicken thighs to last for a few months and enough pastries to keep OH and Mini MM's happy for weeks! I guess other months we'll spend less as we use those items up and I'll then hopefully have a surplus that I can save towards self catering holidays or Christmas food spend.
    Keep frugaling.

  • £53.00 at the butchers and A**i yesterday. I'll update my signature later but I'm still under budget and now have two chickens, a pork shoulder joint and a big joint of brisket in the freezer for March's Sunday meals. I cut the brisket in half before I froze it so it will go further. Fruit and veg are topped up as well, we're eating loads of both which is good.
The freezer has really been hammered this month but there are still two untouched drawers that I'm going to audit later when I rehash our meal plan.
This thread has really helped me stay on track this month, and the savings are going straight into our holiday savings account next Friday :)
