    Evening :)

So, I have no idea where I am today, but yesterday was a NSD :)

I will be able to reckon up today, tomorrow ... but in a nutshell .... milk and a Chinese takeout.

Pancakes have been relegated to Saturday due to a lack of interest. DD had them @ school for lunch.

    Evening all

    Managed another NSD here today.

We had HM potato, cheese and onion bake with baked beans and DH had sausages with his. Didn't make pancakes as I have fruit and yoghurt for dessert and DH usually has an ice cream.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

I spent £14 on Monday, and £17 yesterday, so already £6 over my weekly budget of £25 but in there was washing up liquid, a notepad for my Budgeting and a set of pens as every biro I picked up lately ran out on me.
On the bonus side I shouldn't need to buy anything else this week and was gifted a bag of fruit. This afternoon I will create a crumble, and dehydrate some apples and pears.
Not sure what to do with the excess satsumas yet though. We are having spaghetti bolognaise tonight as we had pancakes yesterday.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Just back from my first food shop this month I was up and out with the birds this morning :) and home before 9.00.a.m. after going to Aldis and Lidls.

Spent £14.83 altogether and no more shopping needed for at least another 7-10 days lots of fruit and veg and my fridge is full to bursting.

Last night at quiz night a friend brought me in some sausages that she had left from a visit from her son and grandson She is a veggie so didn't use them and knew I would, so they are in my freezer awaiting next week when I have my DGS to look after as its half term. They will be used up then.very happy with my shopping haul and have £45.17 left in my food budget purse for the rest of February
9/29 NSD so far this month

    Very pleased with that

  • I've had a lot of small shops due to visitors and baking. But I've managed to keep the indulgence items to a minimum, and we are out 2 nights this week which doesn't come from the budget. BIG Mr T delivery tonight, but if I can keep it to every 2 weeks I think it will make things better. I pruned it ruthlessly late last night, and although it comes in at about £100, we have £17.50 in vouchers, and £20 of it is dog food, £20 is household, so only about £60 going on the GC budget. Yay.

Still got loads of ham left from my Slow cooked gammon for sunday lunch. (I love my slicer!) Also got 10 portions of soup for the freezer after making 2 batches and feeding 8. Lovely lunches for the next week.

Jackie O I bow down in awe at your yield. Both in terms of the will-power for NSD's and the way you seem to make a penny squeak.

I had to go to the shops today for a load of items I had forgotten to order in my delivery yesterday. I spent £9.60 on onions, carrots, coffee, sugar, spread, squash and cheese.

  • I really do love my DH. Phone call - 'how is your meal plan for the week looking?' Mm. - Flexible I say (thinking I think i know where this is leading.) 'Well I was going to surprise you, but I know you like to plan things well in advance to avoid wasting food. Can I take you out on Sunday?'

Beef brisket can stay in the freezer then! (I was going to do something slightly special as it was Valentines Day!) And another meal that doesn't come out of my budget. Actually, sad as it is. I'll really enjoy the meal a lot more because I know about it!

  • Hi,
Spent £45 on petrol today. Do others put this under groceries or have a car related category. Not really an expense I can avoid so maybe part of essential like bills??? Hmmmm?
