Milann's life keeps getting in the way.......

I’ve had several messages from him. The last saying he was expecting a hire van being delivered at 11 am….then he was going to transfer his tools from his van and he’d be with me…….but I’m still waiting. I always thought fitting a boiler was a full days work, so it’s not looking good. I’m off to dds at 6 in the morning until Sunday so it’ll end up being Monday at this rate. Not sure if I’m just unlucky with workmen or what.
WW….I’m currently catching up on your diary. I’m up to November 21. You’ve made me giggle. That is apart from loosing your poor old cat 😢January spends - £587.580 -
Round here they just seem to be driving their vans into the ground before the restrictions come in for later in the year or next year maybe as they have been delayed. They don't seem to feel sure that the smaller vans will be excluded at first as they originally said.

I want to believe him but I’m getting a horrible niggly feeling that something isn’t right 😳😏January spends - £587.580

Had yet another message saying his van is now ready so hire ven cancelled. I messaged him to ask where that leaves us…..still awaiting an answer 😡 I double checked his name and he is listed as company director……so that is a little reassuring. Maybe he is a genuine fella with van problems…..bu WHY on my day. I’m getting paranoid now about workmen 😂😂😂😂😂😂
At least no money has left my purse as I’ve been stuck in waiting 🙄 Deposit has left dhs bank account though - still got half to pay when the job is finished.January spends - £587.580 -
Washing was dried outside and ironed. Just need to pack the bags for tomorrow. I want to do a quick tidy of the spare room before tea. I’m guilty of grabbing craft stuff out and then piling it up rather than putting it back and it’s bugging me. I do like to come home to a tidy house 😀January spends - £587.580

The boiler man didn’t show. He messaged and said he’d be here first thing tomorrow but I told him I won’t be😏 He’s shuffled jobs around and will be here first thing Monday morning 🤞🤞🤞🤞I’m off to see dd tomorrow. The gdds are very excited about showing us their new house.
I’m tidy everywhere in the house. Now THAT is a rarity. I usually have a pile of something hidden in a room that I’ve transferred from whatever room I’m tidying at that minute. I need to do a cull though as it’s getting very cluttered. I also need to clean the windows but I’ll take what I’ve got and be happy 😉😀I’ll have a happy littlest granddaughter when she visits next. We had a trip to a charity shop near to where I used to work a while back and she chose a wooden till….said till had a wooden bank card for swiping. It is her absolute favourite thing and she plays hours with it…..cafes and shops. Anyway she insisted on taking this wooden card to the park one day and it duly went missing. She didn’t get a lot of sympathy as we all told her to leave it at home. We all thought she’d dropped it outside. As I was sorting everything in the spare room into its rightful place it turned up in a bag in a bag…..so we were wrong. She is forever filling bags with all sorts of things 😂😂😂😂😂 There have been tears and much searching for this blooming card 😏
Right I’m not messing my tidy kitchen up so it’ll be takeaway for tea. I hadn’t sorted anything as I wasn’t sure what the kitchen would be like if boiler man had turned up.January spends - £587.580 -

I've also been thinking about getting Christmas & birthday cash for our nephews together, @Milann. My thinking is that it's quite a chunk to come out of the Presents Pot, as they all have Winter birthdays, so I am considering withdrawing any useful underspends as cash to build it up that way.

Pleased the card was appreciated Beanie. I enjoyed making it…..was a tad worried it wouldn’t have survived the journey 😳
Foxgloves I’m quite impressed I’ve put a nice looking - not scruffy £10 note away every month. It helps that I’ve got 12 great nieces and nephews. In previous years it’s taken a big chunk out of my Christmas money. I’m still very much undecided whether or not to send to all 12….I used to love getting cash from ‘old aunties’ though. I stopped doing my nephews and nieces when they set up their own homes but once they had a child I bought a token gift for the child…..which is now money. Only a token tenner but it mounts up when there are a few of them. I also put whatever is left from £100 incidental money away every month, this is used for window cleaner, hairdresser and anything else that crops up over the month. I took best part of £200 when I went to Bath with my friend last month but didn’t actually use that much cash so that has gone back to the present fund.I start the birthday run at he end of September then it’s my dd, Dh and both gdds before Christmas plus a couple of friends. My ds is January so it’s an expensive present time 😳 What I have saved won’t be anywhere near enough but it’s a good start 👍January spends - £587.582
