I went to the hospital yesterday to see spinal specialist - he's going to do more MRI scans to see if there's anything going on making me fall. Hell see me again once he's seen scan results. I ended up taking a crutch with me as its a long walk from the tram station and I've completely lost confidence on my own.
I'd bought a day ticket on the tram so went into big town nearby for a cuppa and little look around afterwards. So spends of £15 for tram ticket, a meal deal lunch and cuppa - I was quite pleased with that.
We went to a 40th birthday last night with some old family friends. We used to go on holiday with this family when the kids were young but haven't seen them for a few months with one thing or another. Our friend (father in law of birthday girl) told us he's been diagnosed with dementia this week. The last person I'd ever have expected....we did however have a great night with them laughing about old times. The scary thing is he's our age. So mixed emotions about yesterday. Made me realise we have to make the most of every day as we don't know what's around the corner....
A bit of a lazy day happening here today - some washing on the go but that's about itJanuary spends - £587.581 -

Man is here doing the fence - was a tad worried when rain was forecast but so far a dry, cold windy day here. Hope the weekend is dry so we can get on with the garden although how much use I'll be is debatable.
Had a lazy weekend but my wrist is still driving me mad. I'm going to ask the physio tomorrow if she can get the wheels in motion to have it X-rayed at some point as it isn't improving - it's going worse rather than better as I'm trying to use it.
I'm unsure about work on Thursday - I want to go and my elbow is loads better and I might just get a support for my wrist and use my left hand as much as possible and just give it a go. I've had so much time off this year it's getting beyond a joke - I wouldn't want to employ me.....
The kids got together yesterday and asked dh to book some time off work near our wedding anniversary as they are going to book a house somewhere for a mini break for us all - they won't tell us where as they want it to be a surprise but wanted to make sure dh could get time off work. Looking forward to that !!!128512;

Annndd so it goes on......
I went to physio this morning had a lovely hot wax treatment on my wrist. It was so relaxing ....anyway I explained what had been happening so she phoned through to get me seen by consultant - who asked for an X-Ray then saw me again. The bones in my wrist are out of alignment which is why I can't rotate my arm or lift with it. Soooo he's sending me to another hospital where the expertise is - I've no idea where this hospital is other than Lancashire - it'll be a pain to get to....just bleugh....again.
Anyway I've talked him into giving me a splint so I can try to get back to work. At least I can give it a try and if I can't manage I'll have to go back on the sick.
I'm going to try having a short drive now.
Spends a cuppa and packet of orange smarties at the hospital - Beanie what have you started me on:rotfl::rotfl: and a bus ticket for the day - cheaper than parking at hospital.January spends - £587.581 -

Hope that it all gets sorted out really soon.

Beginning to wonder if I'm doing the right thing going back to work tomorrow....my wrist is so sore when I do anything - but it'll be sore whether I'm at home moping or taking my mind of it at work. Plus if it means surgery down the line at least I'll be building my sick pay allowance up again.
I sort of made a spaghetti Bol last night but it turned out to be a joint effort as I couldn't lift the hot pans - at least I nearly did it. It's so frustrating.
Today I'm grateful for
NSD so far and no plans to buy anything.

I drove there to test it out yesterday so I can do it ok. It's less than10 minutes with no traffic but has Been known to take an hour as I have to cross a motorway junction and if that's blocked it has a knock on effect to local roads.
The children I work with are no where near as demanding as the last place I worked so I should be ok. I couldn't have gone back to my last place. Just cold feet I think but I need to get out of the rut I'm getting myself into..... If it doesn't work out I'll have to stay off again.
No idea how long I'll be waiting for the new hospital appointment but apparently it's the centre of expertise for wrists near here. I'm intrigued as to what he's going to do - got an idea which I'm not keen on but no use jumping the gun - better wait and see what he says.January spends - £587.581 -
Yes, as you say, just better to wait & see what he says.
