Had someone come and remove the old shed we were suppose to be getting rid of last summer but it was just too much of a task for us. Dh still wasn't sure and thought about getting a skip and doing it ourselves - but boy - I'm so glad we got these fellas in. They battled with it and took it to the tip and it only cost 30 squid more than a skip. They'll come and put a panel and a bit of fencing in on Monday. Feel as if things are going in the right direction. So frustrating though as I really want to do some gardening and can't do it with just 1 left hand.....

I had it in my head I was at the hospital tomorrow to see spinal doc but it's not until next week. Glad I checked my appointment before I got there as its a journey on 2 trams - not the easiest places to get to,

Had to return my electric tin opener as it wouldn't work properly.

Hoping the sunshine lasts over weekend .

Made use of our NT cards yesterday and went to a property a couple of hours away from home with ds. Started out beautiful sunshine then chucked it down...mmmmm....had to shelter in cafe and cakes ended up on my plate....in my defence they were all home baked and delicious. Not good for the waistline though. The sun came out again and we stopped for a walk beside beautiful reservoir in The Peak District and ds treated us to tea at Wethrrspoons on the way home.

    Today I'm grateful for
    - beginning to use my arm a little more
    - family that take me out
    - warmer weather

So today was a spendy day - I need to take stock and start a spending diary - I could easily let things mount up.
I've paid a bit more off dh present for his birthday/anniversary present.
I treated myself and dh to a gorgeous carvery lunch - I really fancied a roast but can't peel potatoes - dh could have done it but he looks tired and deserved a treat as he's been doing lots as well as woRking full time.
I went into Argos and most of the can openers were available next day after ordering - I couldn't be bothered faffing around and going back so I've ended up with a Kenwood one - let's see if it's any better than the last one I got
We've been chatting about the 'special' holiday we were going to have this year for our celebrations...anyway we've decided to put it on hold for a while. I don't want to spend loads of cash if my arm is going to stop me doing things.....I feel rubbish too (although I haven't told dh that) nothing fits me, I can't walk far and can't do much with my arm plus a little lagacy we have coming our way hasn't appeared yet - so think we'll put it on hold until next year, it'll still be our 40th year of marriage, my 60th year and his 65 year. Lol just got to decide what to do this year now....as we have no caravan.

My electric can opener from Argos is great - Cookworks I think. Struggled for far too many years with manual ones.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Sorry to hear your wrist is hurting . My mum has a kenwood tin opener and it seems ok.

Your day out in Peak District sounded lovely, especially the coffee and cake.

Glad you didn't go on the trams to the hospital . I am near the trams , use them a few times a year. Mostly to go into town.
