Yes CL I'm debt free - don't think it's sunk in yet with everything else going on. I'm really aware that I'll be going on half pay very soon so it has taken the shine off somewhat. I just need to get fit and get my get up and go back - feeling deflated.

Had a nice day visiting some family yesterday - some complicated family politics involved but I stayed nuteral in matters and visited all the parties involved - they're grown up kids with their own families now and if their parents were still alive theyd have knocked their heads together - but that's families for you. They went through such hard times together then a silly something nothing caused a big rift - I still had a good time. All I did was sit in the car or houses though and I was shattered. Arm really ached by the time I got home. Slept like a log - could have been the wine I had....

So I went to the hospital today. I explained to the reception that I'd been told I needed an X-ray on arrival...apparently nothing about it in my notes. I waited an hour and a quarter- doc took bandage off, examined it requested stitches that hadn't already dissolved to be taken out and asked if I'd had my x-ray:mad: so off I toddled to X-ray. Got back to clinic nearly an hour later. Doc was happy with everything and said he'd see me in 6 weeks but to go straight to physio. So off I goes to reception - the same lady who hadn't listened to me needing an X-ray tried t o insist I'd been discharged....I stood my ground and made her check with doc. She did apologise but said it was now too late to go to physio....I'd have to ring tomorrow........ I wasn't impressed. So I called into the physio dept anyway and receptionist there said physios were on dinners but I could go back after 2 o'clock or go back tomorrow. I went for some lunch at Sainsburys around the corner then back. So I've got some exercises to do and can start using my arm a bit and wean myself off the sling. I wish she'd have listened to me in the first place as I'd have made it to physio before lunch - but all turned out well in the end :T

So I'd bought a day ticket for the bus and the bus I get home carries on to Manchester - so I stayed on to get my monies worth. I was feeling really cheesed off and getting scared of doing anything on my own. Mmmmmm - my MSE way of using my bus ticket didn't turn out very MSE in the end. I only went in the 2 shops nearest the bus stop but bought some new trousers - I'm struggling with buttons/zips with 1 hand and only 1 fairly decent pair I can pull up easily - so used my vouchers I'd been buying for when I get to target ( don't know if that'll ever happen) to buy them. I needed to add some cash but my little expedition and retail therapy was thoroughly enjoyed. I got the bus back to my town and dh picked me up from the bus station. Plus I had tea and cake :D

I'm shattered now and my arm is really sore - I'll have to learn to pace myself.

I'm half debating getting someone in to do a spring clean of my house. Dh is doing well cooking and washing up but I can see things beginning to mount up. He just doesn't see it and he's so good I don't want to nag. I've tried doing bits but just can't at the moment. If I do go to dds it'll be on my mind all the time I'm there - I once had an invasion of ants whilst I was away so always do a proper clean before I go anywhere - but it seems lazy and extravagant getting someone to clean for me.....dd has a cleaner every week....but she lives in a different world to me though:rotfl::rotfl:

No, I think it is a great idea to have someone in to do a Spring Clean.
If I had the money I would do it in a heartbeat.
It will make such a difference

That's what I'm thinking Beanie- I still can't hold anything in my hand and it'll ruin my time with dd if I'm imagining ants in my kitchen :rotfl::rotfl: Might get some idea of prices tomorrow.

I went to local town to meet a couple of friends for lunch which was lovely. I was very apprehensive walking so even got the littl free on/off bus across town - I'd never even usually dream of doing this....but needs must and I had a lovely catch up.
I took most of the clothes back I'd bought the previous day - and went to Asda and bought trousers and t shirts at half the price which fitted better. So I was pleased - I now have some clothes to wear I can pull up with 1 hand without having to put the washer on every night.

I'm beginning to move my arm a little bit better and do the physio - I can now hold an empty cup but not a full cup - I'm persevering- so 'no pain no gain- use it or lose it' - are my mottos.....still really sore around my elbow and wrist. Fed-up.com

I took the bull by the horns and had a spring clean this morning. I always imagined I'd fancy a cleaner but couldn't stop thinking I should be doing it. The girl worked hard and everywhere is nice now but boy how I resented paying for it - not paying her for her work....but I'd have have rather have spent the cash on doing something 'fun' - if I hadn't have broken my blooming elbow I wouldn't have had to spend £5 an hour more than I get at work for the cleaning my house. I intend to keep on top of it now if it kills me and spend my cash on fun things.

So now I've had a couple of spendy days I need to reign back or else I won't be debt free for long.

Beanie I'm just watching hospital on catch -up - amazing people and food for thought....

Hospital was indeed food for thought.

Glad you have had the spring clean.
    That was quick.
Good news on the togs from Asda.

Another spendy day here......I bought some flowers for a good friend/neighbour who lost her dad (to dementia many years ago) and he gave up his fight to life a couple of weeks ago. Then a donation to her chosen charity.

I live in a little ave with 10 houses and he's the 2nd to pop his clogs this year and another has been taken into long term care. Big changes after years and years of the same neighbours- interesting times to come with change afoot...

I also treated myself to an epilator  after looking at myself and looking more like Chubacca or a yeti than me - I decided it was time for drastic action. Plus I didn't trust myself with a razor in my left hand - goodness knows what damage I could do with that:rotfl::eek:
In my defence it was half price and I got Boots points:o I've had a bit of a go but decided little and often might be the way to go..... Long term it'll be cheaper than waxing.

Got to reign in now though......although...... I saw a lady with an electric can opener in her basket today. Think I'll investigate as I struggled using a can opener before this latest incident as my grip is rubbish. Anyone use one of these - are they any good?
