Twas indeed like Fawlty Towers.....not what I expected at all:rotfl::rotfl:
Got up before 6 for tea and toast - that's it now nil by mouth now:eek: - just about to leave to see what joys today has for me .... See you in a couple of daysJanuary spends - £587.581 -
Today went like clockwork. Went to fracture clinic and the op was going ahead. I did some paperwork and was taken to the day case ward where surgeon was waiting for me - he told me everything that would happen as he finished the anesesist was waiting for me. I was very impressed - he listened and came up with solutions to problems my body likes to throw into the works. The outcome was to give me a nerve block to manage pain and get me moving asap. He checked scans I'd had done years ago as well as recent stuff. He did smirk when I told him I didn't like parting with anything - even blood - thinking I was exaggerating. He later apologised after a nurse then fellow anesesist failed to get blood out or get cannula in......he stepped in on the 5th attempt and used an ultra sound to locate vein rather than using me as a pin cushion:eek::rotfl: I'm going to have some impressive bruises.
Next I knew I was awake and soon having tea and toast :T:T My arm is bandaged and in a collar and cuff - they couldn't pin or screw as there were too many small pieces. My arm is totally dead - no feeling, movement and it's a dead weight....could be interesting when it wears off probably some time tomorrow.....
It was nice as one of the theatre assistants walked in as they were prepping me and it was a friend's hubby - we had a gossip and laugh - just what I needed to keep my mind off needles not getting what they wanted. He called me a tight !!! etc and it was all a bit surreal.
Anyway I was home by 8 pm having stopped for tea en route. Dh hadn't sorted anything as we expected me to be in overnight and he looked stressed. So eating at wethersp@@ns near the hospital was a good option.
I'm wide awake now and sleeping (or not) downstairs on reclining chair...it's really comfy and dh will sleep better as he worries about hurting me....bless......and although I'm not sleeping :rotfl:I bet you're all nodding off after my account of today.
Staff were all :A:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:A:T:T:T
:money::money: Today I thought back to my lightbulb moment in 2006 when I was in the very same theatre prep room worrying about money and my debt rather than what was about to happen. And today thinking about going on half pay and it being inconvenient but not immediately worrying as the money I'll be down was what I was paying on debt and I'll manage as I don't have to do that now. :money::money: RESULT :money::money:
Oh I got my simply health form filled in to send too...January spends - £587.581 -
Milann just caught up with you . Here's hoping the chair provided you with a good nights sleep and that you aren't in any pain or to much pain.
Take it easy today and get better soon. Love the DH taking you to Wetherspoons ! Only a man could do that .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1 -

Tea was rather delicious - I had a mixed grill and chips - I did skip my usual glass of rose for a soft drink though - after the cocktail of thing I'd had pumped into me , I thought it best. I surprised myself and ate most of it too - I wasn't bothered really but could sense dh getting stressed as his proposed plan had changed.....I'm keeping a quiet watch on him as I'm noticing this and other little changes in him happening more regularly....mmmm.....January spends - £587.581

Just out of curiosity I've checked the hotel I went to at weekend and it is a 5* .... I was just as happy with my £8 wethersp@@n meal.
I'm beginning to get a bit of movement back in my fingers now - hopefully it'll take its time moving to my elbow......January spends - £587.581 -
Meal sounds good.
Good idea to keep an eye on your DH.

Pleased to report normal feeling and movement is nearly back in my arm- still got tingly tips of fingers....and although painful it's no where near as bad as I expected - let's hope it stays that way:)
Not the best way to get lots of NSDs in - but I'll take them.January spends - £587.581
