Got to reign in now though......although...... I saw a lady with an electric can opener in her basket today. Think I'll investigate as I struggled using a can opener before this latest incident as my grip is rubbish. Anyone use one of these - are they any good?
My mother has one - it works pretty well. However, she buys quality, and it's quite old, so hence won't be made from pure Chinesium.
You'd be best off hitting the review sites if that's how you want to go. Even for manual can openers, there's a whole world of difference between the good ones and the bad ones."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Elextric tin openers are fab.
Think my latest one was 12 quid in Argos & is a Brev1lle.

Glad you stood your ground at the hospital. At least your house is all clean now, you will soon be back doing it yourself. Sounds like you have enjoyed little sprees and outings.

I got an electric can opener from Argos after years of struggling with various traditional ones, only £9.99, it's great.

Back from a lovely week and a bit from dds. It felt like a real holiday as they are by the seaside in a place we'd never ventured to before she lived there. So we had a good mix of family time and time by ourselves to explore surrounding areas whilst they worked and were at nursery. I'm smitten.....think if it wasn't for ds living here on his own I'd think about moving somewhere nearby in a bungalow - but with house prices being so much more expensive dooowwwn souff then oop norrrff - I can dream on.
It cost me a few treats for my granddaughters, a few cans of beers and plant and fizz for my dd - so lovely hol with minimum spends. We made use of our NT card too and visited Chartwell - Winston Churchills home on our way back. Good time had by all.
Thanks Z and everyone for the can opener imput but I've had a Morrisons electric can opener bought me from my dearest dh £12 - but although I keep telling him my arms getting to the stage I can do some easy cooking - he's 'looking after me' by doing it......so I've not actually got around to trying it....can't complain at the care I've had...again.
Went to physio yesterday and although my elbow where the fracture was is doing great - I'm having real problems with my wrist. Doc did say wrist problems went hand in hand with this kind of injury but it's only surfaced since I've started using my arm more - lol it was about the only part of my person not bruised after the fall but giving me the most problems. Physio gave me some exercises to try for a couple of weeks and said she'll decide next steps when she sees me next. One day I'll do something simple - just not today.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: whatever did I get a spring clean done for......we've decided to get someone in to remove the shed we emptied last year but never got around to taking down - too daunting a task....but someone is coming on Thursday to get rid and put a fence panel in its place. Soooo my lovely decluttered kitchen is full of cr!!p that has found its way into the old shed  but it's got more chance of going to charity shop/tip from there and dh can get on with making his wall in the garden for his train.
Off to get some lunch and catch up on diariesJanuary spends - £587.581 -
Mmmmmm - just attempted to use can opener - might have been operator error but I couldn't get it to grip the can....will see if dh can do it later.January spends - £587.581

There is a knack to the tin opener.
Once you get it you will be fine.
Glad that you had a lovely time.
