Mr SA gets ESA based on his NI contributions not income. I didn’t think he’d get it be because he was self employed but luckily someone I worked with at the time was ex DWP and knew all about ESA. Certainly worth a try.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I've put an application for new style ESA after posting on the benefits forum - the form they send is pretty horrible (easy for me as I bypass most of the questions as I have cancer) and I expect that you will be able to get it. The issue, assuming that your pension isn't forthcoming, is that they will try to find suitable work for you unless you are categorised as unable to work. I would mention that I put the claim in on the 13th June, with a start date for the claim of the 8 July (when my operation was) then got a phone call when I was in hospital even though I ran to give the date of surgery (!) and got the form last week. No sign of any money yet....0

No spends yet during August.
I had some friends visiting yesterday from way down South. We had a lovely afternoon. Ds came over and friends mum - my original friend came too - her hubby is in a home after having a massive stroke a few years back. I felt sorry for dh as he would have been off chatting to his best mate - the fella who had the stroke. Reminded me we have to make the most of every dayMy oldest friend whom I started school with has been around this afternoon and we had a lovely afternoon tea and wine whilst putting the world to rights.I’m so tired. I could hardly move yesterday after baking. I was so stiff. But I thought ahead so that I didn’t need to do anything except put food and cake on plates today. As for SW…..it hasn’t happened this week 😳
I’m going in as a day case tomorrow for a steroid injection in my hip. Hopefully that should improve things again 😃 Dh is working so I’ll have to get a taxi. But it’s at a local private hospital (I’m NHS though) which is only a mile away from home.January spends - £587.580 -
Hope all goes well tomorrow

Back home after my injection- it’s a bit sore but will settle down. Doc told me to sit with my feet up and treat myself to some nice things……who am I to argue with a orthopaedic surgeon 😂😂😂👍 He was talking about hip replacement again I was tempted to put my fingers in my ears and sing lalalalalalalala. I told him I’m in no rush whatsoever……
Spends today £4.50 for a taxi home. I had a lovely walk there in the morning sunshine, through the park where I usually walked to see the ducks and have my £1 cuppa during lockdown. I’m spending the afternoon catching up on Corrie 😄January spends - £587.580 -
Don’t blame you for putting off the hip replacement, I think you’ve been through enough over recent months.Enjoy your relaxing afternoon ☕️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

So much for a relaxing afternoon…..the phone hasn’t stopped ringing and a neighbour called around for the crocheted baby shawl I’d made for her. One of the phone calls was from the friends that visited at weekend. They’d been visiting dad/hubby in a care home and he’s tested positive for covid. They’ve all been tested and all negative which is a relief as we’d have had to isolate since we were together for a few hours on Sunday. He doesn’t seem to be badly affected so 🤞 he stays that way.January spends - £587.580
