We ended up in Tesco and had a walk around town which was nice. Definitely not a NSD £58 spent should last a while though 👍 I’d been told about some tops in Matalan which will suit me nicely but they only had a navy one and not in my size....so I’ll order some online-£6 each is better than the expensive ones I’ve seen.I watched the programme about giving up sugar that has been on tv this week. There is no way I could do that....but what did make me think was the main man of the show (can’t remember his name - a politician who’d lost 8st) they gave him the weight he’d lost to carry around - he really struggled and said he used to carry that everyday. I want to lose about a stone....maybe tad over but I’d be happy with a stone. I found a rucksack and filled it with books and weighed it in at 1 stone. At 1 stone I struggled to lift it and there’s no way I could carry it all day.....but that’s what I’m doing with the weight I want to get rid of. So I’m leaving the books in the bag and will take them out as I loose weight. A new mind game I haven’t tried - hopefully it’ll work. So far so good today....👍😀 When the bag is empty I’m taking it shopping for nice things 😀January spends - £587.584

Good luck what a great idea3

That’s a great idea 😀 In the old days when we had real life WW meetings anyone that said they had ‘only’ lost a pound would be given a pound weight to hold, they soon felt better about it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

OBL 😂😂 my dh thought I’d lost the plot too and didn’t believe the scales were accurate. They were accurate enough to do the job and make me think. I’ve been on plan since and not even wanted to snack on rubbish.....We went out yesterday and I had a piece of cake and fish and chips by the sea......but I didn’t eat the batter and only had a few chips from dh and ds portion.....enough so I didn’t feel I’d missed out 👍
Ds came around yesterday afternoon and we went for a ride to the seaside place an hour and a half away from home. We didn’t go to the main town but stayed at one side of it. They’ve just done a lot of renovations to the seafront and made new walkways and defences...so we walked along there and back through the park which has a lovely lake....again a lot of cash has been splashed and there’s a statue of a spitfire and lots of info so ds and dh were reading up whilst I sat and watched them. We got in the car and drove along the coast to a favourite chippy. We drove through the main seaside town and it was heaving so I was pleased we stayed at the smaller town next door. The queues outside the places with beer gardens 😲😲😲😳It was very dull as we left home and we expected a run in the car, short walk if we were lucky then dashing home as it was wet. It turned out to be a beautiful afternoon - ds forgot his sun cream and was looking rather red by the end of the day. As usual though I walked too far and am paying for it today so a lazy day on the cards.
Dh has started to take the hedges out in the front garden.....it looks awful.I want to ring some fence people up this week to give us some quotes for fences. The trouble is next door is higher than us so we will need something to retain the soil. We’ve nearly taken all the lavender plants out of the raised beds in front of the hedges and I’ve repotted some in tubs - ds will have the rest. Plus we’ve been sorting slate chippings from there too - I’ve been sitting on a stool and putting them in tubs whilst dh has carried them around the back. I hadn’t realised just how many we had.....they’ll be used on the railway and on the top of plant tubs to retain moisture. Ds is going to have some of the soil so he’ll come and we will bag it into small bags save paying for a skip to get rid and save him buying some. Win-win and saves stuff going to landfill 👍Once the hedge is out and raised beds out - there will be an area with no hardcore.....we’re not sure what to do about this. The main garden has been tarmacced for 35 years and is beginners to crack.....do we get a resin drive over it all or just get something where we’ve removed the bushes.....decisions decisions. We need to get some quotes and ideas from tradesmen to see what’s possible. One thing for sure we won’t be asking the fella who still hasn’t finished our pointing or levelled the back for us.😡😡

I hope you come up with the right solution for your front garden, it sounds like a complete remodel.
Not spending money is hard and I fnd sometimes I go through phases of spending, whilst other times it's easy not to spend. I often find I spend more when I'm feeling low, so I have to try and rein in that tendency.
Carrying the books to equal body weight is a really good way to visualise the benefits of weight loss, I hope it helps with motivation 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
