Shouldn’t break down after just a year though. I had this argument with Hotpoint a few years ago. We pay good money for these items, they should last longer 😡

Another one hoping you don't get billed for the washing machine, they don't last five minutes nowadays do they. I bought some net bags for my bras to go in when I wash them so if a wife does come out it doesn't damage the machine 😊

I use the net bags too @Onebrokelady - they're a really good idea as all my bras are wired.

I put my bras in a pillow case to protect them and the machine. They seem to come out clean. I too hope you don't get billed for the washing machine. It's always a relief to get the MOT of the way for another year 🎉.

So I’ll try again to update my diary and hopefully won’t loose it.
I lost 2 1/2 lbs.....best loss I’ve had in a long time. I’ve taken 5 books out of my rucksack. I seem to have had a LB moment re the weightloss. I’ve stopped recording what I’ve eaten as I want it a lifestyle change rather than a diet I’m recording and feeling the weight of 1 stone helped me realise the health challenges caused. 🤞 I keep in the same mindset.
ive spent a fair amount of time ( in small chunks) sitting on a stool trowelling soil from my raised beds beneath the hedge in the front into rubble sacks. Dh has moved the sacks to wherever they’ve been going.....mainly to ds house. We’ve uprooted about 60 lavender plants that were there and so many small pieces of slate in buckets to disperse into the back garden.
The builder never came to level the path for me and never came to do the finishing touches on the pointing. I am beyond mad with him and he hasn’t returned any messages or calls. A house at the bottom of the avenue are having an extension and the workmen have been there first thing until after 6 pm- even Saturdays and bank holiday Monday. Anyway as I’ve been sitting moving soil into the bags they’ve been saying hi. I asked them if they do fencing....showed them the job, including levelling the paths the old workman should be doing. They’ve said they’ll do it when they’ve finished the job they’re doing now....2-3 weeks. They’re going to drop a quote in tomorrow. So the other workman can whistle until it’s done then I’ll get onto him to do the finishing touches to the pointing. We still owe him £100 for the pointing but I’m not giving him all of it if he ever decides to show his face again 😡😡 So I might get my shady nook this summer and my mini greenhouse put up after all. The way the weather is shaping my shady nook might double as a rain shelter 😲
When the gks were here a few weeks ago Morrison’s we’re giving out free sunflower seeds. The girls took some and we’ve been chatting today - they’re asked if we can have a sunflower growing competition 😂😂 So we’ve all planted seeds today. I’m hoping they’ll win as the climate down there is usually warmer than here.
Yesrerday was spent at ds house. Planting my lavender into his garden so he can have the lavender hedge. At least I’ll enjoy seeing and smelling it there. Dh put the 5 rubble sacks of soil into his raised beds. They’ll still take more. I’ve filled another 2 bags with soil again today.....not bad sitting on a stool with a trowel.👍 we’ve still not emptied a quarter of the raised beds 😳😳 it’ll keep me out of mischief. The workmen will get rid of all the roots  from the bushes and hedges that have been chopped. Still a bit more hedge to cut. Various neighbours have offered their green bins so hopefully ds will chop more before Wednesday and fill the neighbours bins with whatever room is left. I got some strawberry plants from ds and have put them in the tubs I inherited from my brother. Can’t wait until the garden has been levelled and I can get it looking good again.
Ds has a big American style fridge freezer and the fridge part has broken. He has to defrost it along with the freezer over 48 hours before the engineer can assess it properly as it’s solid ice where he need to look. So yesterday was spent trying to make room in my freezer and visiting a friend who is away but letting us use whatever space is in her freezer and having to liaise with yet another friend to get keys etc. We couldn’t find room anywhere for his frozen veg but between us managed to house the rest of the contents of his massive freezer. He said he’ll get in touch with a homeless s charity to see if they want the unopened veg.
Yesterday definitely wasn’t a NSD.....we visited a garden centre near ds house and several more Alpine plants jumped into my basket. Then a crochet book appeared on ds Amazon account for me to buy. I don’t know what’s got into me. I think I’m buying before I have to go on works retirement pay - which won’t be much without a state pension to back it up 😲😲😲😲 i did buy a couple of nice plant pots for birthday presents. I’ve used soil from the raised beds with a lavender and a couple of carnations and pansies to make presents for them both. They look really good and cost £6 each plus things I had here. Ds called me a cheapskate for using surplus soil and lavender plants. They look as good if not better than shop bought displays 👍 I want to crochet flowers for a card for my friend too...from the new crochet book. She likes homemade cards.
A friend I used to work with has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s so sad. She has been on her own bringing up a lovely daughter who is now a young teenager until a year or so ago when she got married out of the blue. We had a lovely day at the wedding....now this. Life is cruel with the twists and turns it gives out.
Right that was a ramble and a half. Got physio tomorrow. My hearing aids are still hurting my ears. I worn aids since 2006 and never had ones that hurt like these. I’ll ring up tomorrow as I’ve given them best part of a week.

Well done on the weight loss, that’s fantastic! All the digging, even sitting down, is great exercise too.
sorry about your friends news and your pesky hearing aids ☹️, but well done on making up the plant presents. I bet they live a lot longer than shop bought ones.
