Lol it was like a whirlwind of a day yesterday. Dd brought the girls around and we all had a picky dinner in the garden before she went back to do some work in the afternoon. The girls had every toy out and enjoyed playing with everything. Ds came around after tea time when he’d finished work and we took them to the local park for a run around before bedtime. The sun was very kind to us and it was a glorious day.
They were up at 7 and eldest one is doing a big jigsaw puzzle with Grandad and youngest has all he Barbie out....5 minutes peace for Grandma 😀
I am aching everywhere. I think maybe I’m not as fit as I thought I was and am very pleased to have dh at home to help. The killer was making up the foldaway beds up....I had to get dh to fold them away this morning. Think I’ve been kicked around the middle.
Today’s plan is play for a while before making a birthday card for their dad. Picnic in the park, trip to get some sprinkles for a birthday cake for dad.
Tomorrow we will make a birthday cake put the Christmas Tree in th pe garden and have a ‘special Christmas’ and pull some curries out of the freezer for a curry fest 👍as we exchange Christmas presents and celebrate son in laws birthday....might even throw in an Easter egg hunt then we’ve covered everything 😂😂 They’ll go back to the holiday home with dd and be there for their dads birthday Friday morning. We will meet them and go for a walk in The Peak District before they head home again.
It feels about 2 in the afternoon and it’s only just gone 9 am 😳😂😂😂 i could well be going to bed at the same time as the girls 😲😂😲😂

And they’ve gone ......all that time waiting to see them and it’s gone in a flash. We put a little Christmas Tree up in the garden to put the presents under....the girls decorated it themselves 😂😂😂 ready for their mum and dad coming around and ds coming after they’d all finished work. Luckily they finished work fairly early. I can’t quite believe how lucky we’ve been with the weather. We had to go and buy sun cream as the gks are very fair skinned.....it was a blizzard on Sunday with snow whirling around and sticking. We had a lovely time exchanging presents as our Christmas trip had been cancelled at such short notice. We pulled an assortment of hm curry out from our and ds freezers...and made a big pan of korma served with rice and naan....instant hit 👍
It was quite nice having a 2 nd Christmas and great fun was had by all. There are always tears from the kids when they leave though and it seems so quiet in the house now. They are staying in the air bnb tonight - it’s son in law’s birthday tomorrow and it’ll be nice for them to be together, before heading home tomorrow. We will go over to see them and have a walk with them before they leave for their long journey back. I’ll tackle the tidying up in the bedrooms another day 😳
All being well we will be seeing them again in June again.
I’ve been bringing my plants in and out for a couple of weeks now and the one night I forgot we had a hard frost and some of them looked very poorly and I thought I’d lost them. Anyway I’ve cut all the black wilted leaves off and the underneath leaves don’t look too bad - so fingers crossed. I was so cross I’d forgotten them.

We went to air bnb dd was staying at and had a walk to the local park. We watched the children in the park and played Pooh sticks on the bridge over the river before they headed off. I think my son in law was surprised how quickly we can get into the  countryside from here.....which is in the sprawl of a big city.😀
From there we drove virtually into Wales and put a deposit on a motor home 😀😲😀 I can’t quite believe we have actually done it. We’ve talked on and off about a motor home for years.....didn’t think it would ever happen.....more like one day when we win the pools......that was my mum and dads stock answer to everything I wanted when I was little 😳😀😳😀😳😀👍 We’ve played with the idea of static caravan, caravan but always come back to the dream of a motor home. We had a very old one when the children were tiny before going for the caravans. We’ve missed the caravanning these last  few years. It will be ready around July and they’ll let us know nearer the time 👍 Anyway the deed is done - I’m hoping it fits on the drive and having mini panicky thoughts....all will be fine and we will have some lovely memories in it 😀😀
From there we actually drove into Wales had a coffee watching the sea and short walk. I couldn’t do much as I was really tired today.....the past few days have caught up with me. It was just nice to see the sea and have a drive out. Dh took the very scenic route home and avoided motorways and duel carriageways. It took a long time but we weren’t doing anything else and sitting in the car looking at the towns and villages we pass is lovely and not strenuous. We didn’t use the sat nav....dh likes to see if he can find his own way on trips like this.....he’s never failed yet 😂😂😂😂 and we can switch the sat nav on if we get totally lost 😂😂😂😂
Tomorrow we are both having our 2 nd vaccine.....so nothing is planned for weekend just in case.
