SA I’ll use it mainly to start seeds off. Last autumn I planted sweet peas with seeds from the flowers I’d grown. They were doing really well until we had the snow not long ago which finished them off. If I’d have had the greenhouse to overwinter them they’d have probably survived...plus I seem to spend a fortune on geraniums every year. Hopefully I can overwinter these too. It’s only a small one so I can’t do too much. What are you planning on growing in your full sized greenhouse SA?Lazy day here today. The £2 piece of pork is smelling good. It’s in the oven with tomato, onion, spices and chorizo to make pulled pork. Dh has done it I’m hoping he hasn’t made it too spicy for me as I’m a bit of a wuss with hot spices.Virtual sw this morning another 1/2lb on......I’m surprised it’s not more as I’ve had a couple of rubbish days. I think sorting all my clothes and having to get rid of a lot - some of them I’d only bought last year.......got to me and I just thought what’s the point if I can’t wear what I want anyway. I do know it’s the best thing to do for my health so I need to carry on. I couldn’t bring myself to got rid of my dresses though. I only have a few dresses and don’t wear them often. I suspect one of them won’t be suitable anymore but I’ll get rid of it when I feel ready. Just a bit of a meh week getting my head around the way things are now but I’ve busied myself doing lots of sorting out.
Just watching Oliver....I love the old musicals and sing along to every word 🙉🙉🙉 It always reminds me of when dd was at school and she played the part of Oliver.....it should have been a boy and should have been a yr 6.......but she was a girl in year 5 and got the part....she positively floated home from school that day 😂😂😂 She was really good too🤩🤩 Wow that seems a lifetime ago....30 years 😲January spends - £587.582 -
@HairyHandofDartmoor I have successfully grown an olive tree and a lemon tree outdoors up here in the East Midlands, although we do tend to be quite sheltered from the ravages of extreme weather, we are sheltered by the Pennines apparently.@milann we are growing aubergines, courgettes, peppers, chillies, lettuce, tomatoes, basil, coriander and various flowers. We had quite a bit of success last time we had a greenhouse with all that lot so fingers crossed 🤞 I love Oliver, I can remember my mum having the album, she was a big fan of musicals so I’ve seen most of them. She particularly loved Judy Garland musicals.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I generally grow strawberries, courgettes and tomatoes along with radishes and salad leaves, coriander and parsley. The trouble is over the years my plot has been overtaken by railway and I grow my veg in pots now. I have some pallets saved from when we had the radiator delivered. The plan is to sand and paint it and get dh to put it on the wall for my salad leaves. I’m full of good ideas 😂😂😂 Just need to get on with them. We have a productive garden at school and get a good crop of potatoes using builders sacks. I’m tempted to give that a go this year as Morrison’s had so many empty spaces in the potato stall today 😳January spends - £587.582

Don’t do what I did with potatoes. Inspired by something Jamie Oliver said I planted a few potatoes in a grow bag. According to him all you had to do was bung a few potatoes in a grow bag and they would pay dividends. They sprouted lots of leaves and I got so excited when some potatoes appeared. Then I realised they were the same blooming potatoes I planted 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

😂😂 I can imagine you getting excited to find the same potato 😂😂
The lady gardener at work suggested small builders sacks - rolled down. Put you potatoes in and as soon as the leaves show add more compost and unroll a bit of bag then keep repeating. We cut the bags out onto tarpaulin and let the children hunt for the potatoes- they were so excited. I will miss my job as we did some lovely things with the children.January spends - £587.581 -
All this talk of dolls houses has inspired me to crochet a little striped blanket for the dolls bed 😂😂😂😂😂 never mind all the things on my to do list that are much more important than that. A dolls blanket it is then 😂😂
A lazy Sunday morning with a bacon butty in bed. Going to ds later who will cook a roast for Mother’s Day and dd has sent a book of photos of the girls which is lovely ❤️

I had a lovely day yesterday. A roast dinner and flowers and long chat and a photo book. So once again I’ve been spoilt. To be honest though I’m quite often spoilt.
I've finished the little crocheted blanket and crocheted a couple of little cushions for the dolls house. Just need to sew the and stuff them now.
Today I plan to do a little bit more of the chair and cook a chicken in the slow cooker....I’ve found this much tastier and cheaper than buying cold meat.

Oops pressed send by mistake.
ive found I get this sickly headache and churning stomach if I go for a while without food. I’m wondering if it’s to do with having a 2nd section of intestine removed...just had an omelette so hopefully that’ll sort it. I’m having to eat little and oftenJanuary spends - £587.582 -
My get up and go has got up and gone today and I feel really tired. The chairs are no further on. I’ve had a couple of chats with friends a real life one I’ve had since I was 11 and a MSE now real life friend. I have put a wash in and put it away so not a totally wasted day.
I’ve had a chicken in the slow cooker with fennel, lemon, garlic and a satsuma. It’s delicious if I say so myself. I’ll do some actifry potatoes and broccoli with it and take chicken butties for a picnic near the hospital tomorrow 😁
OBL here is a photo of the dolls house I was gifted
