Thanks for the sandpaper tip OBL. I feel as if I should be sorting things out to go back in the room but my get up and go has got up and gone.
My Mum would have been 105 years young today. I can’t believe it’s 45 years since I last celebrated her birthday with her and we did a surprise party at my sisters house for her 60th......and I’m now older than she ever was. It seems like yesterday but many years ago too.
Right enough moping- I need to get my backside in gear and do something productive...

I’ve completed the forms telling work to go ahead with retirement through ill health and dropped them into work. I could hear the children playing out which was a bit sad to think I might not go back. Whilst there I nipped into the butcher and bought some sausages and stewing steak. The steak is now in the slow cooker with potatoes and veg, ready for a meat and potato pie. I’ll make a bit of pastry for dh but I’ll just have it as stew.
The vinyl man has been and the bubble has mostly gone. There is still a little bit in front of the new unit. The man says the unit just needs pushing back to sort it. The builder doing the pointing hasn’t shown again. I’m getting pretty cheesed off with him, but yesterday he refilled the bits he raked out - so if it rains again there shouldn’t be any damp.
I've started going through my craft boxes and thrown a few things that had dried out. Right I’d better go and get on. I’m still really tired so not doing anything strenuous again today. Dh will put the shelving units back in the bedroom on Thursday when he is off. He’ll probably need to take the door off as it is really stiff and barely moves. Then I’ll begin to rearrange and put things back in there. I’m not sure I’ll ever be straight again.
My mini greenhouse has arrived. I’ve not opened it yet but I’m quite excited about it. Can’t wait until that area has been levelled off and we can start making my shady nook area 😁😂😂😂There I go again.....always thinking about the next project before I’ve finished the current one 😂😂😂

Yay dh came home at 4 because he’d done extra hours yesterday so he has put the shelving units up. I can honestly say they’re the most versatile pieces of furniture I’ve ever bought. We’ve adjusted the shelving so that the dolls house fits beautifully. I’ve nearly finished sorting through my first 12 boxes of craft stuff - I’m  part way through the ribbon box. I haven’t touched them for ages and they’ve managed to tangle themselves into the biggest knots ever. I’ve virtually sorted it now though and will put all the clean and sorted boxes on the shelves before bedtime or I’ll be sleeping on the floor as my bed is covered in boxes. I’ve quite enjoyed rediscovering my card making and scrapbooking items........which at the time I thought  I HAD to have.....easy to see why the credit cards mounted up. In reality the hobby was collecting the stash. If this retirement goes ahead I’ve got plenty to amuse myself with.

Today I’ll sort out some toy boxes and get them back into the front bedroom. I hadn’t realised how many children’s books I’d acquired buying sets from the man  who used sell books at work at a really good price. The toy boxes shouldn’t be too bad as I think I went through them after the last visit...just need checking and dusting down. When I look at the things still in my bedroom I’m wondering if it’ll all fit.....but it all came out of there so in theory it should go back 🤪🤪😂😂and some has gone to the tip already. I’m tempted to get rid of more babyish toys they wouldn’t play with at home but happily play with here. It’s been a year since they’ve been here so probably won’t be interested in them but  I don’t want to change too much and get rid of special memories of being here. Think I’ll leave them until their next visit and we can decide together.
My bathroom needs a ‘good bottoming’ as my mum would say. Everything upstairs has been neglected whilst the decorating has been taking place. It will get done in time...can’t wait until all the house is sorted and I can stop just moving things from 1 room to another.
