I went to the chemist and found the plant swap. I took a couple of geraniums and a plant of unknown name but comes up every year with lovely white flowers and spreads like mad. I got a rosemary cutting and strawberry plant. 😀 I usually put my excess plants in the recycling so a much better idea to swap. By the time I got home my hip and foot were so sore. It was 8000 steps.....a fraction of what I used to walk.....it’s very frustrating. Twas rather warm out there too as I wore my jacket after the rain this morning and ended up carrying it.Some time before I go back to work next week I want to put an old £20 in the bank if they’ll accept it. Don’t believe I’d forgotten about it in the drawer.Pork chops and frozen veg from the freezer for tea. I’m getting through the freezer quite nicely now but next week could make for some interesting concoctions. I don’t want to empty many more cupboards until I know when the builder is coming.January spends - £587.582

Walked to the docs this morning for a routine test. I should get the results within the next few weeks....all being well it should be the last time I have to do that test.
Not sure what we’re doing today. Dh is off but the weather doesn’t look inviting....January spends - £587.582 -
The tv has broken- totally dead - dh has tested it and it’s definitely kaput - why is it when 1 thing goes everything else decides to follow. In around a year I’ve had a new tumble dryer, washer, kettle, food mixer, microwave, tv and had repairs to mine and dh cars and my actifry has given up too but that’ll have to wait 🙄😡 All I can say is I’m pleased I’m in a position to pay for repair or to replace them.....I wouldn’t have been able to do this a while ago. So I think it’ll be searching for a tv this afternoon.January spends - £587.582

Looks like we’ve found one in Mr Ts - virtually the same price as curry’s but we get points from Mr T so we’re off out in a while. It’s keeping dh amused anyway and he’ll be in his element setting it all up....boys and their toys 🙄🤪😂
ohhhhh we’ve had a new tv arial too and bay ceiling leak repaired.....😱January spends - £587.582 -
The weather has been awful for days cold, very wet and miserable.....coupled with the local lockdown where we can’t visit friends, it has really got to me and I’ve felt so cheesed off.I had plans to do fish and chips but my actifry has broken....so we ended up going out to W spoons. It’s the first time since before lockdown in March I’ve been to a pub. It was a tad strange as you had to order with an ap - it felt good to go out though. It was fairly quiet but we purposely went before 4 - a late dinner and early tea as we presumed it wouldn’t be busy. We drove hope the very scenic route through some beautiful countryside in the adjoining county to us - pity it’s was chucking it down with rain.
We stopped at Curry’s looking at fridge/ freezers for when the kitchen is done. Hopefully the one we have now will hold out until then but it’s making some very strange rumblings recently. I’ll continue to use the one I have until it gives up - think I just needed to ‘do’ something constructive 🙄🤪😂January spends - £587.582 -
Our lockdown will ease on Wednesday. I’m back at work on Tuesday though, so I feel as if the whole of the school holidays have been wasted as I haven’t seen any of the friends I usually catch up with.January spends - £587.582

Yesterday turned out to be a good day although it’s not what we planned 🤪 We set out about mid day to visit a local Sant@nder to see what we could do with an old £20 note I’d forgotten I’d had....it was last years birthday money I was saving to get a top with when I lose weight....🤪😱😂 we ended up in The Lake District 👍 and the note is still in my purse 🤔🤔
It just seemed too nice a day to do nothing.
Anyway we came off the motorway just in the Lakes - dh went to look in a train shop we know of then we meandered through the countryside roads to Bowness.....it was rammed with people. We tried a couple of carparks - Not. A. Chance......so we drove some more around Windermere, everywhere was the same - traffic jams and people. At least we saw the lake from the confines of the car. We gave it up as a bad job as there’d have been no pleasure fighting the crowds it didn’t look as though anyone had even heard of social distancing 🙄😱 and we went to a seaside place not too far away back towards home. There is a lovely view of the hills we’d just driven through from there and a lovely wide promenade where we walked without any crowds. The tide was in which is a bonus as it is notoriously muddy with a lot of quicksand there....and looks prettier covered in sea. We popped into Morrison’s when we first arrived as we were desperate for the loo- noticed all the food in the cafe was 50% off - by this time it was nearly 5 o clock - so we ate in there....it cost £5.34 for 2 drinks, 2 cakes, a jacket with tuna and scampi and chips.....I wouldn’t have made it much cheaper at home 😀👍 From there we had a leisurely walk along the front and stone pier and watched an amazing sunset before heading home. In its day it would have been a lovely town but is a tad rundown now. There are plans afoot to make a new Eden there - hope it goes ahead. I had a lovely unexpected day though - I do like spontaneous outings 😀😀....spontaneous anything really 👍👍
