Hairy it is a bigger job than we thought it was going to be.....we were quite happy with the front garden and had no intention of doing anything other than refilling plant pots......then we put the deposit on the motorhome and will need somewhere to keep it.....and as per usual one thing leads to another job needing doing 😏
At this rate the inheritance we got will be gone....but we will have made improvements to the house that make it better for us and should add value in time.
The bag of books seems to be keeping my mojo in place 😀.....I’ve purposely kept it in front of the wardrobe door and I have to move it to remind myself what a stone feels like every time I go into the wardrobe.
It has  rained non stop today but tbh I’m quite pleased as it’ll make me rest and not be pottering in the garden 😀 it sounds as if I’m doing loads but I’m doing 20/30 minute stints and dh is doing anything heavy. I’m really feeling tired after the walk yesterday and I’ve got some weird and wonderful red patches around my ankles. These happen from time to time when I’ve been on my feet....I’ve shown them to the chemist and photos to GP and the general consensus is that they’re bleeds under my skin.....they’re not sore or itchy just look a complete mess 😳😳 GP didn’t seem bothered about them......they go brown and disappear after a few days 🤔🤔🤔 the mysteries of getting older I suppose......

We spent all the inheritance we got from MIL on a new drive, fencing, general garden landscaping and a van for Mr SA (he was working at the time).

The ankle patches are weird, are your socks tight? I changed to soft bed sock type socks as I was getting lines from normal ones.
I really loved your bag of books idea, but instead of weighing some books I ate a cookies & cream magnum..sigh!

I hope your ankles improve milann. But you've certainly been on the go lately!
The bag of books sounds like an excellent idea for checking yourself weight wise. Unfortunately I don't think I've got enough books.........🤣

Hope you are enjoying your retirement SG has it sunk in yet?
Today has been the 2nd NSD of May👍.....although I’m very tempted to get a very big buy😳😲...although I really don’t want to 😒
I went to collect my new hearing aids this morning......they are awful. I had little soft rubbery domes before and you could hardly see them NHS ones. These ones have moulded ear pieces, which is what I had years ago and were quite comfortable, but these new ones are so uncomfortable. She had to file lots away. I’m not convinced the moulds were taken properly. I can hear brilliantly with them but not sure how long I can put up with them. I might end up buying some private ones. I go back in 2 weeks.....I’m hoping they settle down a bit.
Yesterday I went for a swim. I managed 2 lengths then a session relaxing in the jacuzzi followed by another 2 lengths. I was a bit conscious wearing my new cossie....but did it, it’ll be easier next time 😀I took it easy for the rest of the day, I’ve got a new pattern for a crochet cardigan for the gks and am a happy hooker. Nearly finished one side already.
I renewed my membership at the gym yesterday. I decided not to get the corporate one through work as I don’t often go in the evenings but to get the one with restricted hours which was a lot cheaper and is open to anyone over 55 👍It takes me to the September after next.....and works out £6.50 a week.

Had to chuckle - when I was a teenager I remember reading a book called The Happy Hooker and it certainly wasn’t about crochet 🤣 My mum went mad when she found out, she thought I was far too young to be reading it.

The gym sounds great value if you going to get good use out of it.

I’m hoping to build my swimming up to 3 times a week. But I’m doing as the physio told me and taking things steadily..... I’m not really into many classes but do enjoy tai chi and the ladies only gym. So once everything is up and running again I am hoping to make full use of it. After I had the spinal bleed the consultant told me to go swimming....I do try to go but life has a habit of getting the way 😲
LOL to the happy hooker book SA. I’m afraid all my hookery is crochet related 😂😂😂😂

Waiting for the washing machine man coming.....any time between SEVEN and ten 😳😳 dh is taking my car for it MOT 🤞fingers crossed for everything.
Not much planned today. I need a day today. I slept better than I have in a long time last night.....I don’t remember getting up at all. But I couldn’t move my arm this morning as it had locked tight. Took ages to get it moving- need a big can of oil like the tin man me thinks.

The washing machine man has been. The concrete that keeps it still had come loose, the paddles had come loose and they found a bra wire 😳😳 I think it’s been done under warranty - when we phoned it in there was only a record of when the last engineer came out and the old machine was condemned - not when they brought the new washer last year. We weren’t sure when we had it delivered.....I know it was quite early in the first lockdown but could be just over or under the year. I don’t even know when the bra wire was lost.....and during the renovations the machine was moved around a lot....which isn’t the best for it. So if they bill us we will pay up 🤫🤫I’m hoping they won’t since it wasn’t on their records 🤞
Dh has just got back after dropping the car in. I’ll drive him to pick it up later.

Thinking back I’m wondering if the wire was lost when dh was washing when I’d come out of hospital......I’m sure I’d have noticed if I’d taken a bra out of the machine. When I sorted the drawers a few weeks ago I threw some old bras out...could have been one of them 🤔
