Just had the stoma nurse on the phone for ages. I’ve chased the GP up and they’re ringing me back - I suspect it’s the cocktail of strong IV anti-biotics they had me on. I’m the same with thrush every time I have them.....but this is the worse I’ve had it. I’m taking Manuka honey and acidophilus hopefully the gp will send a new prescription to the chemist. All going in the right direction but just not quickly enough for me...

I asked my friend to collect my prescription from the chemist yesterday and have taken the new meds for thrush. Apparently it should make a difference in 3 days. 🤞 it’ll work. Not much difference yet though.
I think I’ve decided that if dd comes home I’m going to cancel the meal. I don’t think I’ll be up to visitors and going out. We will rebook. I knew this’d happen. But I’d rather see dd and gks. 😀January spends - £587.581 -

Not much to report here. The nurse has been - changed and packed dressings again. Watched All Creatures Great and Small remake and something called Us. I’ve done a couple of rows of knitting and had a snooze in the chair. Another NSD...can’t go anywhere so it’s easy not to spend.January spends - £587.581

Well the new prescription hasn’t made much difference - very slightly. But I’ve had to wash the cream off as it’s been burning and stinging so much. This blooming thrush is giving me more problems than the stoma and big scar 🙄😳 the nurse has just been and suggested a different tablet which is a 1 off. I’ll send dh to the chemist to see if he can get it later.
Things seem to be healing and the nurse suggested I’m nearly at the stage for a visit every other day rather than every day 🤞👍 tiny steps and all that 😀
I’m waiting on dd letting me know what’s happening at weekend as her car has had to go in the garage and needs to be 100% for the journey here. Then we can let the restaurant know what we are doing. Why is life so complicated......we have vowed not to get each other ‘voucher’ presents again......ds bought us theatre tickets which needed cancelling....I bought restaurant vouchers for dh and ds - which have been cancelled and re booked. Dd bought ds a cooking experience which has been cancelled- and it’s nearly time to start thinking presents for next year - we haven’t used last years yet 🙄😳
Just had a letter from HSA and just over £300 has winged its way to my bank account for my stay in hospital- silver lining and all that 🤪😄January spends - £587.582 -
Moving in the right direction apart from the thrush. Great news on the £300, I bet you glad you’ve got HSA.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I very nearly cancelled my HSA as we haven’t visited the dentist for a good while- luckily I decided to wait until after we both get new specs. How gutted would I have been if I’d have cancelled 😳
I’ve just entered a draw for a free couple of nights in Skye - fingers crossed 🤞 a lady I used to work with sold up a couple of years ago and has opened a guest house- it looks amazing. Not the best year for a new venture to be taking off though - last year they were doing it up. Her baking is amazing so I’m pretty sure it’d be lovely. Whether we win or not i thinking of going next spring and make it into a little touring holiday of Bonnie Scotland.... something to look forward to 👍I’ve never been any higher than Dundee.January spends - £587.581 -
Skye is just awesome
