Just started shopping properly at Lidl (only used to pop in very occasionally before) and am really pleased so far!

I have found the meat (chicken breasts and steak) to be much cheaper and just as good as the other supermarkets (I mainly shopped in Sainsburys or Tesco before)
Really like their porridge oats and the dark chocolate they do, too!

One thing I won't buy from there again though is their spinach and ricotta tortellini. Tasted like plastic :-(

    Anyone tried these chocolate cookies:

Aldi [Belmont] Oozies - 'Crunchy cookies oozing with gummy chocolate filling'.

Sounds disgusting, but actually very good - though far too moreish.

More or less identical to Maryland Gooeys but about half the price. They don't seem to have any kind of online presence, but worth a try if you see them.

You do have to cook it first :D

Try the fresh stuffed pasta from the chilled range instead.

Maryland Gooeys 2 for £1 at Farmfoods, so a lot cheaper than Aldi's Oozies.

I tried Aldi's mince beef (5% Ashfield Farm brand) and whilst for supermarket bought mince it was better quality than other supermarket mince, I prefer the mince beef from my local butcher and he's cheaper than Aldi too.

Well I hope so, but AIUI we only gain an extra 132 square metres of shopping space - which doesn't sound much!

No but if the space is used correctly it could be a big improvement.

Hopefully, I'll just have to wait and see.
